Canada' PCMR armed with lever actions...
Anyone familiar with this organization? Some very interesting information came up on a google search. They had 94's, 36's and possibly some 64's...

The Pacific Coast unit is fairly well known. IIRC, they used what was available. True of many organizations during WWII.

Modern Canadian Rangers can trace their history back to the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers (PCMR). Formed on March 3, 1942, the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers were volunteers who patrolled, performed military surveillance, and provided local defense of the coastlines of British Columbia, and in the Yukon against the wartime threat of a possible Japanese invasion. At their height, the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers consisted of 15,000 volunteers in 138 companies. The Pacific Coast Militia Rangers were officially dismantled on September 30, 1945.
Sincerely,
Hobie

There was a WWII movie made during the early part of WWII with John Wayne but I believe it was about similar organization only set in Alaska. Cannot remember much of it but it was one of those which had the japanese bucked toothed wearing eye glasses and looking evil. The people were afraid of an invasion up in that area of the world after Pearl Harbor. Was rather like one of his westerns, but set up along the coastal region. Someone had a book or manual from WWI on how to drill and dig foxholes and so on. Most of the people were armed with Leveraction rifles and a few with various old military bolt guns. Must have been made in 42 or 43. Probably not nominated for an Oscar either.
