Post by JOHNNY WACKO »

WATCH OUT ON THE SAVAGE DISCUSSION BOARD IT WILL,take over your computer and try to download that fake 2009 update that isn't from windows! It took me 2hrs to get back up and running again and like a fool i almost did it again from a web address some one gave me again today.
It goes to a savage page then" DAM" your computer takes off on its own and starts OK ing its self to download and you cant stop it.Had to pull the plug the 2 nd time!

I don't go anywhere on the net w/out zonealarm installed - the full fledged protection suite, not just the anti-virus. Both the Savage 24 and the Sixshooter Community forums are places that need to be approached with caution. Sometimes those of us who've been around for the past decade or more and have learned the tricks of survival there forget that not all folks are familiar with the procedures. In Internet Explorer you need to go to "Internet" then "Tools" then find the place where you can add the http://disc.yourwebapps.com site into the "Restricted Sites" section. A good addblocker and a good popup blocker are indispensable as well - not only there but just about anywhere anymore it seems. Me? I prefer to use Mozilla Seamonkey suite or Firefox and only use Internet Explorer for the mickey$oft update site - they refuse to work with anyone else's software. Anyway, I'd suggest you go to http://www.mozilla.org and download one of their internet browsers. Internet Explorer is a sitting duck for a LOT of folks out there on the 'net. Also go to http://www.zonealarm.com and download at least their firewall and take the tutorial on proper use. And those recommendations go for whether or not you ever return to the Savage 24 site or not...

Good advice.
Another method that has served me well is to create a limited user account, sans Admin privileges that I use 99% of the.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.

No... he's right. It's true. It was my mastermind plan to take over his computer.

He's on to us. Drats.

Personally, I don't see how you people can put up with those PC's.
Slow is just slow.
