Re: Favorite cartridge
Any cartridge that uses a 308 Winchester case. It's just a good looking and very efficient case.
Especially, the .358 Winchester. It just looks right. Not too thin, and not too fat. Just right. And very versatile for North American Game.
Alas, the same can be said for the 35 Remington, which is my favorite.

Sadly, "Political Correctness" is the most powerful religion in America, and it has ruined our society.

The old 30-06
Re: Favorite cartridge
My favorite is the 50/90 in my treasured SHILOH SHARPS...the BIG 50.
The one I shoot most is the 44 magnum in both revolvers and MARLIN lever guns; followed distantly by the 357 and 22 LR. I'm just getting into the 30/30 and cast boolits (Guess what one of my other favorite web sites is?)

When they said SHARPS, I always thought BIG 50!
Re: Favorite cartridge
45-70. But not with that "trendy smokeless stuff" in it. I like it loaded with real black powder.

Re: Favorite cartridge
I gotta go with the .44 Mag.
It'll do most anything you need, in most any gun you want. I've got more .44's than any other caliber, and seem to always be wanting more.

Re: Favorite cartridge
.22lr first and foremost, then the .480 Ruger, .45 Colt (Long Colt), .30-30, .45-70, 30-06, .270 win. For me, that .480 Ruger has been as good as anyone could ask for, but the .22lr is what I would choose if I could only have one caliber.

Re: Favorite cartridge
Maybe because I am an oddball, I like .41 Magnum. I don't have any reason in particular, I just like it.
Re: Favorite cartridge
I would have to say 30WCF...as my favorite deer rifle is my Winchester M1894.

.348 or a .358, they both-----or either---- will kill anything I aim at, and neither kills me when I fire them.
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

Re: Favorite cartridge
I shoot several: .22, .357, .44mag/spec, .45 Colt, 30/30 and others and I enjoy each and everyone for different reasons. My favorite caliber, because of the guns I have to shoot it, is the. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .44, I think?. . . . . . . Ask me again next week. . . .

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

Re: Favorite cartridge
I kinda like the 41 Magnum, too.
And just like CaveManMike, there's really not a logical reason - I just do.
The 35 Remington is a terrific cartridge, too but not so good for revolvers.
