O/T 8x57MM MAUSER LOADS
i have a friend who is in to swedish mausers and doesnt reload. Someone helped me find data on his 6.5 mm mauser but now im looking for data on the 8mm utilizing H-335 powder and the hornady 220 grain soft point. Can anyone direct me? Ive looked at hornadys data and they have alot but nothing using h-335. Any help appreciated.

Although I shoot the 8mm, I dont reload for it, as I bought a ton of it years ago for 7c per round. Half a ton actually.
You may want to veryfy the load with other sources before using.
Good luck.
p.s with that weight bullet I think you will need a slower burning powder.

It depends on which type of mauser you are reloading for as some don't do well with pressure loads.

With that bullet weight you will need a slower powder, look at H-4350 or Varget.
Lots of load info over on the collecting & shooting military guns site.
I have a good lead load for a 190 gr. RN gas check, 18 gr. of IMR-SR4759.

In the Speer no12 manual they list for 98 actioned guns and not the weaker 88 action and tighter bore a load of 42grn MAX for their 200grn spitzer + mag primer. Starting charge of 38 grn. Their test gun was a Mauser 98 +24" barrel giving around 2322fps on the max dose.

Hodgdon manual doesn't show H335 in the powders listed for a 225gr bullet.. They go up to the 170gr with H335 though They start with 44gr H4350 and stop at 46gr max
