I never was happy with the barrel. The sights weren't quite square when it was as tight as it ought to be (too loose is harder to fix than too tight).
I had another barrel that I planned for Puzzle 5, but, it was a pre-64 stamped 30 WCF. I really wanted to use that barrel with the pre-64 reciever on P5. I came across a 16" barrel from Numrich, but it has a thicker taper and would necessitate several adjustments.
Then a friend who was ill when a gunsmith called and said he had completed rebarreling, reboring (made a .32-40 out of a .32 Win Spec.) job he'd been working on for about three years. (Lots of patience paid off, I'll do a write up on the results later). The friend asked me to get the gun for him and I did so.
When I got the gun, the original barrel was with it, wrapped in newspaper. It was a post-64 top-eject trapper barrel in .30-30. Hmmm.
I delivered the gun to my friend and picked up another 94 he wanted me to restock with a SRC style stock. I mentioned the barrel might solve the problems on my nephew's carbine and he said, "Take it!"

Puzzle 4 is reborn!

I put a bolt mounted receiver sight, so nothing hangs off the side.

The lad said he wanted a saddle ring-

I like a lot of the older style details, like the slotted mag tube plug.

I know some of you are probably not wild about the finish on some of the parts, but this is one of the early scintered receivers that won't take a blue well and he said he kind of like the look of "character", so I put a brown patina on most of the parts that needed refinishing. It's a bastard of parts, so I guess it's fitting.
