rebounding hammer
can removing the rebounding hammer on an 1894 improve performance and is it the same operation that one undertakes on the model 39?
if you think you're influencial, try telling someone else's dog what to do---will rogers
Re: rebounding hammer
Yes it can improve trigger pull. No, the design of the guns is different.

Re: rebounding hammer
Big time! I recently swapped the rebound out of my 2005 carbine with post 64 half cock parts. Trigger pull dropped at least 4 lbs.donw wrote:can removing the rebounding hammer on an 1894 improve performance

Re: rebounding hammer
Not onlly the trigger pull... time after time I have found the rebounding hammers to give inconsistant ignition. Changing out to the standard hammer in all cases has resulted in better accuracy.

Got my ears.
Tell me more about it. Where to get parts. How it's done.

Re: rebounding hammer
You ARE talking about a 1894 Marlin, right? Remember the Winchester Mdl 94 was initially and rightfully also called the 1894. For clarity's sake, it's best to make sure the rest of us understand which make you're referring to.

Re: rebounding hammer
Are they putting rebounders on the Marlins now? My 1894 is maybe 3 years old and doesn't have one.

Have you hugged your rifle today?

Re: rebounding hammer
As far as I know the Marlin center fire lever actions have the standard half cock action. The .22 lever actions do have the rebounding hammer action. (yuck)claybob86 wrote:Are they putting rebounders on the Marlins now? My 1894 is maybe 3 years old and doesn't have one.
