PRAYER REQUEST - for myself

Post by RustyJr »

Dear fellow levergunners,
I would like to request prayer for myself. I went to the walk-in clinic yesterday and the doctor said that he suspects a hernia. I'll be scheduling surgery ASAP.

Thanks,
RustyJr

Rusty, prayers said.

I would like to add that I've known several people who've had the surgery to correct their hernias and none had any serious problems. I think this is one of those things at which they are now very good!
Sincerely,

Hobie

Nasty thing a hernia. Groin ones or belly button ones, they are painful and must be fixed. Just don't try to leap out of bed that first morning after the surgery, I'm sure your bod will be telling you to take it easy. Prayers sent Rusty, and best wishes.

Done. Heal well. Might even be a good chance to catch up on some reloading, if you do that. Lift only one box of bullets at a time!

I had a real low one repaired three summers ago.......Walked out of the VA a couple hours after it was done (I opted for the spinal block, and recovery is rapid) Take it easy, tho....I prolly extended the healing by several monthes by being dumb about trying too much too soon  Getting out of bed the first couple days will be interesting for you  Get a cane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things have gotten better - 30 years ago a one-sided repair on me (20 years old) left me in hospital 3 days and 6 weeks before I could run and work outside.

Ten years ago BOTH sides were done (40 years old), and I was out chopping wood (against doctor's advice) in 48 hours). Felt great.

On the list for successful surgery and swift recovery.

It's actually not that big a deal, you'll be uncomfortable in the repair site for several days to a week immediately post-op, and won't be able to move fast. Coughing will be an adventure durng that time. There will be lifting restrictions for maybe two weeks or so. You might be given an oral antibiotic to prevent infection at the site.

Praise report! I just got home from the the doctor today and he doesn't think I have a hernia. He gave me a prescription for antibiotics. He thinks I have Epidydimitis which he says can occur do to straining oneself while lifting something heavy. In my case it was a bag of fertilizer. Best of all my doctor sent me to Publix for the prescription and as a result it didn't cost me anything. I thank the Lord for His goodness and I thank all of you for your prayers.
