Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thanks guys. It's crazy dry here. We had a thunder shower night before last and a big downpour, but it's not enough.
We have been in a warm stretch too. Wasn't bad yesterday, but I think there is more coming. I hate it.
The first half of the summer was pretty cool, but it's making up for it.

Normal high 90s, low 100s here and dry. It was 20 degrees cooler up in the Sierras.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thank you 45. We had a great day.
My folks just live out back, so we see them daily. They do very well and are healthy, but at that age it can turn any time. We try and do as much as we can with them. It's good cause we are close and can be there to help in seconds. Want to keep them in their house and not in some facility.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thank you sir.
Family matters more than anything. I can never repay what they have done for me. I will do all I can, because I want to. They are the best.
Just want to someday have my son and his family in Alaska back close.
I say it all the time.....
If you can go through life with your family, and 2 or 3 friends you can count on, you have lived a good life.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
My family (what's left of them) are spread out all-over, my son and his wife are going to NZ to live, so me being the oldest I don't look forward to getting infirm and unable to cope. Pity really as I was counting on being a burden to them all...

Hey Jay...imagine that! All of her kneeling and talking bad about the country.....NOW, she wants help from the country she despises so much.....Trump is sitting back in Mar-a-Lago, with a tall drink in his hand, with his like thinking buddies around him.....and doing everything they can to keep her where she is.
Since when is she any different from the many people who sneak small amounts of drugs into Mexico, Thailand, China, etc. and get 10 year sentences? If she had any other attributes such as spying, international diplomacy, or even good looks...maybe...but spinning a 9 and 1/2" ball around?
Trump just took another sip. -----00

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Good point OW but beer being essential all year round is different to emergency rehydration fluid that is required when you feel a little bit warm, it has then become become medicinal...
I am critically low at the moment as Shipyard IPA in cans brewed here is undrinkable I have to find a decent replacement and that takes a lot of time and samples from different brewery's....... hiccup!!!

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hahaha my man! You always have a good answer!
Man that sucks. I'd send you some but it's probably illegal. Or at the very least, cost prohibitive. Have to get a conex container, get it filled down to Portland, then find a carrier......
My boys like Allagash White. That is brewed in Portland too. Pretty good.
Can you get any other of the Shipyard varieties there? Shipyard Export is pretty good.
There is my favorite (that I can't get here), Moosehead Pale Ale. Wonderful beer, but I have to cross the border to get it.
How about the Alaskan varieties? I can't get them here, either, but they are outstanding! They have a good IPA. My favorite is Alaskan Amber. Fantastic!
We have 2 good locals too, but I doubt they have made it across the pond.
I haven't had any of you guy's brews. Unless you count Guinness, which I really like.
We have some local Irishmen over in Bangor with a brewery called Geagans. They make some great beers also.
Sadly, most times I just swill Miller Lite. I'd get too fat if I drank the beers I really like.
Oh! I just remembered.....
Sam Adam's out of Boston has really grown, and is probably available over there. I have toured their brewery and sampled many of their varieties. Very good beer.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Plenty of variety over here and if you know where to look Moosehead can be found, I have tried it and yes its bloody good..
One of my favorite beers (from Wolverhampton in the Midlands) is Banks Amber Ale, only availability down south in certain supermarkets.
As I said before if a imported beer becomes popular they start brewing it over here and it never tastes the same....

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
It’s the water they say. One issue with populations moving is whether individuals get along health wise with the change of mineralization of the water. Which by the way is a good case for drinking beer from where your ancestors were from.
So I have to cover the UK. Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Denmark.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
That is actually a good point OS. One I hadn't given a lot of thought to, but obviously valid.
If one is used to a certain type of water, they will recognize it in their beer, even if they don't realize it. There is no doubt it is a big factor.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Well when I had a tour around the Coors brewery (now demolished) they said the local water has to have all it's minerals taken out and replaced with the minerals of the home brewery, that's how they keep a consistent taste of the brand no matter where it's brewed.... something must have gone drastically wrong where they are brewing counterfeit Shipyard IPA
But you are correct that in the old days beer brewed in one part of town tasted different from that which was brewed from another water source and don't forget beer was first brewed because the water was not safe to drink without the brewing process.
However it is an excellent suggestion that we drink beer from where our ancestors came from and also places our ancestors had never heard of...

One beer GK?....May the Good Lord bless you.....in my drinking days and upon walking in the door after work, I would walk straight to the fridge and grab 2-4 16oz. PBR's.
Too hot to do anything so I'm just laughing and f.arting reading the news on my I pad.......that queer in L.A. who crashed her car in a house which erupted into a fireball? Alec Baldwin sends his well wishes to her but nothing on the house that burnt down or the possibility of the many people being hurt......
So.....while sitting here in our "happy room", mom's phone starts buzzing....Amber alert.....check out this description of Matt Gaetz's version of a thumb.----00
Let me show your boys how to turn pages....I'm still in first gear, low RPM's.----00
A child at 17? Looked her up and she already has 7 kids.

Well gk, yesterday uncharacteristicly played 8 holes on only Gatorade. Wasn’t working out then a friend rolls up, former Marine who looks like a bigger version of Mike Tyson and says I got an extra Modelo, you want it. Hallelujah out of the blue. That helped things immediately. Had to wash that down with a Bud

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Dos Eqius is better in my view but it is actually German beer brewed in Mexico.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I've never tried Modelo or Tecate. I don't care for Corona. And I can't stand Dos Eqius.
I do like most Canadian lagers. Probably the water thing.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Well I just tried the American "STYLE" IPA can't say I like much, genuine Shipyard brewed in Portland is much better, I think I'm going off IPA altogether, I think I'll go back to British Bitter and also hunt down some Canadian and Mexican largers. I like trying different brews but I do like having a favorite and consistent tasting beer. I was the same with cigarettes and pipe tobacco, always trying different brands

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Wow, that's warm buddy. Last weekend was the end of our bad heat. It crashed Monday. We had a 30 degree swing in temperature. It's 63 here now.
I never smoked, but I used to chew long ago. Still kinda miss it come fall or when I'm in the woods.
I don't mind an IPA, but don't drink them but rarely. Usually one is plenty.
Maybe I should switch to them.
Normally, I like lagers. I like Canadian lagers really well too. I don't drink them all the time, especially in the summer. I would weigh 300 pounds. If I sit and watch TV for a few hours in the evening, I will drink 2 or 3. That rules out the heavier beers for me in the summer. I usually drink Miller Lite.
In the winter I drink less beer, so I can fall back to favorites. Moosehead, Sam Adams Octoberfest, Sam Adams Winter Lager, Oak Pond "Dooryard", and an occasional Guinness.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Big weekend we had...Young Neighbors next door had a Big Birthday party around 75 people just having fun, was about 90* and rained in the late afternoon. Momma and I came home around 6 to get in the air conditioning . around 7:30 pm I open the front door to see how the party is doing and the single ex-Marine on the other side of My house is screaming at his Friend. The guy has an older Jeep Cherokee and says I'm leaving I've had it. You can go says the Marine but the car stays here. The guy gets in the car, the Marine grabs his chainsaw sitting there and flattens the rear tires on the Jeep. meanwhile the people at the party are watching this unfold.
I'm on My porch watching . the argument goes out to the street and the Marine try's to throw the other guy in front of a passing car. several people at the party call 911 and three police cars show up but they took a while. the owner of the Jeep got a ride to the emergency room and the Marine was arrested for felonious assault. and is in jail. I've known the Marine since He was a baby and We wish to God the courts could get him some help but He doesn't want it...... another day in the neighborhood. .

Holy smokes!
Around here that's called........Wednesday.
No, not really. Too bad about the Marine. Many times that doesn't end well.
Well, all I was missing was a window for over the sink for the trailer. I scored a brand new vinyl double hung with screen yesterday. It even matches all my others!
We'uns gonna be some stylin' hicks! We took the Jolly Green Giant up and got some 2x4s. Got the front wall built . Didn't get any pics. It's still laying down anyway. We still have to get sheathing.
