Neat pics Jay......looks like unforgiving country.....did ya try riding the shoulder?

I was several miles back......about 6 miles onan ice road like that upstate one time with a new Ford 250 XLT 4x4....I was scared.....I was driving up a hill when I lost traction completely ...afraid of backing down and going into a slide with nothing but trees on either side.......finally made it by going on the shoulder and backing down inch by inch.....never again without lockers and chains.

We knew we could if we needed. With lockers it will work. That is where the old TJ Rubicons like ours have an advantage. When our lockers are off, we still have a limited slip in the rear. None of the later Rubicons do. They are either locked or open.
If the guy in the Tacoma didn't come out easy, we were going to drive down the left ditch, run a snatch block off the guard rail, and pull him straight back. Then we didn't have to worry about him sliding into us.

Well joy!
More freezing rain and or snow today. Probably won't get any of it. Boss says no work today.
So before it starts I'll move the camera AGAIN. Brandon , I'm 99% sure he is Chinese, anyhow customer support has been less than stellar as far as giving me answers. Using my best Sherlock Holmes reasoning I have deduced that as the sun comes into play around 3-3:30 causing 50,60,80 alerts in as many minutes. Yes really that many false alerts! Of course I'm kind of stifled by the wifi signal. If I can't get this squared away I'm sending it back!

I've eaten tree rats but I don't make a habit, I've always just shot them as the vermin they are. However squirrels are inventive, persistent and can be quite entertaining.

Another 4" of snow for Jay's poor dad to clean up. Man you owe him big time! :D

Not going to be a good day.
Past couple days Winnie is has been going downhill. Unsteady on her feet, now she is falling down, twitching and drooling. I called the vet. My dogs mean the world to me. Im going to miss her dearly.
She was a great mother to 18 puppies.

I'm so sorry to hear this, my friend. Nothing is worse than watching one of our beloved companions struggle. So sorry.

Our son thinks Gracie has a bladder infection. He has to take her to the vet today. I'm sure it's nothing big, but being 5 thousand miles away doesn't help.

HAPPY DAY!!!!

So what i saw in Winnie was a hyperglycemia attack. Fortunately I was smart enough to take a video of the attack, sent it to the vet tech friend that works at my vets office and the vet said her sugar was probably a bit whacked. My fault as while I had covid I was almost out of syringes and ordered the wrong ones! I should have returned them but I didn't. Anyhow I thought I had the dosage correct but apparently NOT!
Anyhow I had made the dreaded appointment for 1130, my friend texted me to see how things were going and things were better so we pushed the appointment back. Win assumed her normal nose out the window and we went. They drew blood to check her sugar levels and insisted I take a box of syringes. So my dreadful day was much better than I was expecting!
Thanks guys for the support!!!!!!!!!!!

Great new buddy! So glad to hear. My dad ran up to the vets and picked up some antibiotics for Gracie. Dropped em off at the kids so he can give her them when he gets home from work.

Snowing again. Here and home.....again!
Talked to dad this morning. He said we are pretty well buried.

Great news Gunny......our dogs are priority so I know how you feel......if only they could talk and tell ya what's wrong, but a good eye can usually see what the problem is.

Funny thing how we all spend money on things that are not needed and flat out refuse to spend money on necessary items....we all do it........instead of that $1.98 chain at end of the driveway it's nothing to have a gate installed with a code box that you punch in 4 numbers. The place where my wife had horses was like that...only the boarders knew the code....I used to visit sometimes when mom was there...3-0-7-2 "star" and you were in and it automatically closed. The place was owned by George "Frolic" Weymouth, the artist who painted the queen....he had mucho money but I can't see it costing more than 5-8g.s

But, you know, that Perazzi or Colt is much more important.

Another miserable day....overcast, rainy, 38 degrees....even though it's a work day I don't see many people on the road.

I read where Ireland is like that all year round....true GK?----00

Ireland, one place I'd like to see, Scotland as well and of course the high end gun makers in Britain, then to Ulm in Germany then off to Brescia to go see Perazzi & Beretta plants. Maybe time the trip for the running of the bulls and catch a bull fight or two. Nope can't see that happening anytime soon.

Yes, it really helps to know what to look for, now I do! The solution is a little maple syrup on her tongue.

I've thought about a gate, but the only way I could get electricity to it would be to dig, 400 feet of rocks, this area is rock just below grade , thanks to the last ice age.

The Irish claim their climate be summed up as being mild, moist and changeable with abundant rainfall and a lack of temperature extremes. The Gulf Stream keeps Ireland warmer than a lot of countries at a similar latitude.
Extremely cold winters are rare and average winter temperatures of between 40°F/5°C and 46°F/8°C.
Scotland on the other hand can be extremely Cold and snow covered. Southern England where I'm currently stuck is warm and sunny in summer and mild winters.

Thanks GK.......ahhh, dunno....overcast and moist does not work with my mental stability.....I need sunshine and that's why people retire to Florida or Arizona.....where Fred lives is also nice but too expensive for a redneck........when the Good Lord made Jay, he did a great job as Maine weather would leave my happiness scale at about a 4 on a 1-10.

We have gnats flying around the house...huh? ..wintertime....Only fruit we have is fresh bananas. House is dry from the wood stove.....no apples under the couch.....no crabs on the toilet seat.......like WTF?

Maybe so Jay...I figured Old Savage could use the bus route more considering who he hangs out with........

I remember many many years ago Johnny Carson was interviewing Arnold Palmers wife and Johnny asked her if she does anything special for Arnold before a Tournament. She said she kisses his balls and Johnny replied, "I bet that makes his putter stand up."

That's quite a putter your buddy has Fred.--00

Actually Six this warm / cool weather will get bugs hatching. Since you have the pond bug life is probably more than you think. Anywhere there is running water around here this time of year the stone flies are hatching. As for your gnats, they might be dormant on your firewood and they thaw out inside the house.

Yes the 106 recoiless rifle, better be on your toes when it's being used- don't get behind it or you'll get crispy real fast!

Learn something new everyday...thanks Gunny....I am particular about the wood I bring in the house and if it shows holes and such I leave it outside the door and just reach out and throw it in the stove directly but I guess you can't get em all.....loose or semi loose bark gets the hatchet treatment before I bring it in.

One time many years ago we got these flies in the house during winter that were the size of small birds....hundreds of them.....I sucked em up with a vacuum cleaner. Oh well.

Always wondered what a recoiless rifle was.....it's like a big bazooka.....plus it's mounted on a Jeep.....always wanted a Jeep like the Rat Patrol......

I noticed sb#2 is mia.

Yeah. Shocker!

I've never seen such panic. And in my observation, it is directly related to how much interaction an individual has with the media.
Everyone thinks they are immune from it (propaganda), because they are aware of it. Nobody is immune. The only way to prevent its effects is to not subject yourself to it.
And quite frankly.....I don't care if it's all true. Nobody is going to control my life like that. Some things are in fact, worse than death.
To me, it's the same as the "not gonna get my gun" screamers.
If you let them control you over a virus that "may" kill you, you surely will when you are surely going to die trying to keep your gun. The majority of this country's behavior over the last 2 years reinforces what I have been saying about the disarming of America. We will do it for them.

Yep, we are all lied too from cradle to grave, the one's that start the lies are not such a problem as those that believe all the lies and perpetuate them to others.
When mankind first walked this earth he picked up stones and sticks for security, now every government wants us unarmed with no security as we are told that the government will give us all the security we require... laughable but some folks fall for it... Here in the UK sticks and stones are all that most people could use and even they are considered by the police illegal lethal weapons if used in defense. (Fact).

All the years Dad was flying for Eastern Airlines he always joked about how the passengers had to go through the metal detectors and as soon as they got on board they were given silverware. Of course 9/11 changed that.

I dont remember exactly, I was young but I remember when he came home from a trip. He was newly flocked as a Captain on the 727. Anyhow the trip was Newark to San Juan. About halfway to Florida some guy tries to hijack the flight to Cuba. Well the first officer and engineer promptly beat this guy to a pulp in 1st class, the passengers were cheering!

That was good Gunny....and your right, the intelligent can see it was all set up........it was rare for middle aged or younger people to die until the vaccinations started.........I said it from the git go...screw that vaccine........did you see how some people were selected to get a lethal dose.....who knows WTF they are putting in my body.......

"Mass reduction in world population"...."one world order with digital currency"........

The biggest problem are the sheep.......when you see a line of cars 2 miles long waiting to get a death jab tells me how stupid people really are.......there ain't many wolves but on the graves of my mom and dad, I'll never give in.......I may get killed by these bas.tards but I'll be a free man when it happens.

Having different vaccines for the same virus seemed odd to me but not knowing anything about vaccines other than the tried and trusted ones like smallpox actually worked I went along and got a jab, then we start to hear that some folks still get the Chinese pox and others fall ill due to the vaccine. The whole so-called pandemic was hyped up to sound worse than the black death. The only way I could talk to a doctor was by phone and my dentist who always bombarded me with routine appointments disappeared off the planet.
Emergency hospitals were built and not used, people waiting for surgery were told they may have to wait years for it.
Yet the only thing the folks in the UK are bothered about is the Prime Minister going to a Christmas party…

One family we work for is very well to do, they live on 5th avenue in NEW YORK CITY. Back when the death count from this was supposedly very high, the news reports were showing pictures of a hospital there in NYC with body bags and ref-er trucks, remember that? Well these folks were there and showed us pics of the news crews and it was all a farce. No body bags, no ref-er trucks. It's all horse hockey.
Sure I'm certain there are people that have succumb to complications but no where as bad as the lying political, lying 'news' lying gubbermint claims.
One thing 'they ' don't understand, the folks in this contra that have questioned this from day one are the same that have the ability, desire and skills to survive. You know the type I'm talking about.so they failed to get rid of us!

Like GK said sure I trust vaccines that have been throughly tested, years of trials . This 2 weeks to make a vax is mule fritters.

You want to watch a good movie on You Tube go type in "The Trap" "movie". It's about an old French Canadian trapper who has a Peabody single shot rifle, likes to drink and catches his foot in a bear trap while he is fighting off wolves......there's like 2 characters in the whole movie.....except in the village.

Bad bay....here I sit all full of S and the nearest bathroom is three floors, two corridors and two elevators away. But............there is a plant next to me.

So I got outta work early, decided to head for the club as deer season ends on Saturday. Man I gotta trim around this ladder stand! 42 f with a south wind, not the best but ya never know when a dumb one will step out for jerky!

Did I mention we had a forestry mower come in? Man we got a lot of work yet to do. One spot the mower got reclaimed an acre of field. So thick with mile a minute vine, rose, brambles,Russian olive ya couldn't even crawl through it the past 2 years, now to cut the trees the mower didn't get!

The best news is news of your best buddy (4 legged) being OK.....you figure, people can help themselves while our furry friend depend on us.....only thing the they ask for is food and a warm place to sleep.....and of course, to spend some time with them like Miss Apple is doing right now...climbing up my leg wanting to go for a "walk and sniff". That is funny, they just have to sniff at everything and it's always the same bush, clump of grass.......

Well students, your homework for tonight is to watch "The Trap"...he sings a song on his canoe and kills a couple of Indians who try to steal the money that some old nasty long sideburned guy owed him. So he trades the money for this girl who can't speak and takes her back to his cabin where he gets drunk and wants to slip her something extra.....you'll like it.

Jay...I got that idea about the plant from a you tube video where a black guy is sitting on this huge potted plant in the mall...he drops his drawers and lets out a #2....pulls his pants back up and goes about his business......subhuman---00

Just a brief synopsis of the movie, "The Trap". Probably filmed in Jays dooryard....English actors and that's why Master GK knows about it.

We've tried to keep trails through that but unless you cut every year they grow shut. Besides we have had the NRCS people directing us to get rid of all those invasive plants. They put together a plan and we did the work and then NRCS gives us grant monies. Good thing is now that extra acre can be used for bird hunting. Claro and I would get in there and find birds but boy was it tuff going, hard to shoot and scratched my gun up!

Well I saw 11 deer , 1 half rack buck on my way out, then 6 more as I drove out. Im surprised to see that many with the amount of coyote in the area.

Gunny......is that at your place or the gun club? Invasive weeds....interesting.......a couple of years ago people were getting seeds in the mail which incidently, after investigation, came from China.......like, why would they send seeds? I never did look into it on what they were........a few years back at elk camp in Colorado my son was showing me fields and fields of weeds and he said they were an invasive species that's near impossible to wipe out.

"Shootin' a deuce and no wipe"... :D isn't that what they do in Muslim countries or something close to it...one hand for eating and the other for wiping........

Reorganized part of the woodpile...large rounds of pin oak....anywhere from 2-3' in diameter.........just manhandling them on the ground showed them to be 200-400 pounds......I rolled the lower layer into place but the Kubota did the lifting to three high. Sure could have used a hefty country redneck helping out........could you imagine a college professor helping out?

You want the 55....it's a takedown made in '24.. I think.....ex plus.....ex shooter.....here's your chance as that and the mint 62 are going down the road this year....easily a 22-2400 gun......18

The 86 is well, an 86...a very nice one...has a $700 sight on it ....the guy who bought all my old ammo....his buddy wants it and when his buddy called we found out we knew each other well........he was pizzed because I didn't offer my cartridge collection to him first so it seemed he didn't want to give me any of his money.......

I'm tired bro....supposed to be nice the next two days. What time you coming down? Wouldn't that be cool?! We could laugh and make jokes about SB # 1 & 2....call d GK on the phone and pretend we're Tunisian camel jockeys selling female goats for "companions".
