Re: Way OT Saving money on gas
Well I wish I could sit here and brag a little bit, but I can't. My first test was before installing O2 extenders( they lean back the fuel ) and I actually lost 2.5 mpg. I half way expected this, I've read it would happen. Supposedly the extra oxygen tricks the computer into thinking it is running lean and it adds more fuel. After I added the O2 extenders I gained almost one mpg, .8 to be exact . I haven't given up, I'll be mess'n around for a while. I did better using mothballs. I'll update again in a few more days. So you have to monkey around with the extender??? I wonder what would happen with just the extender in place?

I would asvise those of you who are trying this to be wise and not spend a lot of money hoping to get something for nothing. Read the site above, esp. the part on Automotive. Your money would be better spent on "Leverguns".

What I've never quite understood is why all that heat being generated by an IC engine can't be scavenged and used to run an electric turbine. To heck with another PTO generator, let the heat-pressurized "coolant" do it.

i heard that too, thanks for posting.Rusty wrote:I know there's been a lot of OT stuff here lately but this is a unique forum.
Earlier this week I was listening to an all night radio show while I was driving. The Coast to Coast AM radio show had two guys on there that were talking about introducing hydrogen into your car to boost fuel milage. It works with diesels too, even big ones. Anyway this process has been around for years. the gas is referred to as HHO. there are a lot od entries about it on youtube as well.
Well low and behold I went to Church Sat. Morning for a men's fellowship breakfast and there was a fellow there who had done it to his '93 Cadillac. he's now getting 31 MPG.
There is a web site where they sell the book if you need it but you can get by without it if you like. The website is http://www.hhowater4gas.com
It looks like something I'll have to do myself. I was wondering if anybody else here has tried any of this information?

I'm extremely interested in your progress. Seems to me there's info about reprogramming the computer so it doesn't over compensate the mixture.
It would be great if you had an old plain non computer rig around. The oldest one we have here has chips in it. Something like a chevy straight six would be nice. Then you would know at once what the effects are without chips throwing it off...
Come to think of it, my airhead is a pretty basic engine.... hmmmmm...
