Oh, man, Pitch, I was hoping desperately for considerably happier news.
It is a blessing, though, that your friends will be there into spring, in case he shows up or makes a break for it.
I'm sure you have notified all the local shelters to be on the lookout.
Something to ponder: maybe Snoop is in the arms of a lonely child who needs him as much as you do. I like that scenario better than that he was grabbed by a rotten soul.

Sounds to me like your are really going through the mill, Bro'. I'll be praying a similar prayer for you that Jesus prayed for Peter.

I think Snoopy is safe, he's just in the wrong hands.

Satan taunted Job too. After much suffering God rewarded Job many times over. Must of been awfull in the mean time for him.

Prayers sent. Not to drift the topic, but it is a good idea to have your dogs implanted with a micro chip so that a vet can scan it and find you from the database. I have a dog that will somehow get her ID tag caught and tear it free from her collar deliberately. She whines when I put it on, and just can't stand it. She doesn't mind the collar, but hates anything on it. Strange, but that is what she is like. Now that she has a chip, and our vet has confirmed it works, we are not quite so worried.

I feel bad for you, Pitchy (not as bad as you, of course) - I keep my little guy at hand, on a leash, for just that reason (even here in Southern NewEngland).

The little guys not only get into your family, they get deep into one's heart.

FWIW, Friends living there (AZ) tell me that they never leave their pets unattended, due to 'yotes trolling through their yards (in a senior housing development) constantly (and pets disappearing).

Heck, a 'yote ran up my driveway yesterday evening, about 8:30 (I live in a dense Suburbia) - only a minute after I came inside with my dog. ( Cheeky sucker)
I saw it when I turned around & looked out the door window as I was closing the door.

If I lost mine, I don't think I'd want to put myself through that again, so would not have another...............

I have been copying old vcr tapes to DVD and see the puppies we had a dozen years ago who have since grown old, infirm and then passed away..Tough to lose a precious member of the family..Would rather have one smashed in the road in front of the house than turn up missing and dont know what happened to it.....Incidently, I got interested in guns again after coyote or Bobcat or some other varmint fatally wounded one of my little dachsunds in our backyard..

Well fellers today we did what i feared and left TX without Snoopy, we did everything we could to find him with no avail.
The good news is the people we were staying with are our neighbors back home and will be there until April and if he shows up they will get him home.

Here`s how it happened, when we got there last Friday the alternator went out on our car. Sat. morn we put our dog and their dog in their trailer and went to town to get a new alternator.
When we returned the door was open and Snoop was gone, the other dog was there.
Snoop has a habit of jumping against doors to open them and the door was not latched tight.
Snoop went looking for us is my guess and either left the park or someone caught him in the park and has him.
Snoop is a very shy dog and it would be very hard for someone to catch him.
We went from heartbreak back home too heartbreak there and now on our way home to more heartbreak.
I`m wondering what purpose all our grieve can have and am having a hard time dealing with it all but we will get through it somehow.
Thanks for the kind words guys and prayers, we may get lucky and he will turn up.
I`d hope if we don`t find him that he is in a good home and not wondering down the road some where.
I keep putting myself in his mind and feeling what he must be feeling, the fear and lost feeling and sadness. :(

In memory.

Sure sorry to hear he hasn't turned up yet. It is always hard when a fellow's dog is gone. Looks like you had a lot of good times. I tell my kids that God entrusts these animals to us to care for, for a while, and when they are gone, all we can do is thank God for the good times we had with those little buddies (or big buddies, depending upon the size of the dog). We are without a dog right now, but are planning to get a pup in the spring.

Pitchy- Not a problem. Maybe some other time. The offer stands! Glad you guys made it home safe and sound. Know you are both grieving some for Snoop. I understand and hope good news about him will come your way sooner than later.

Cold there? My insulated overalls are hanging by the back door of the mudroom and are seeing plenty of use in the last few weeks. Having to break ice out of the 4 stock water "troughs" at least 2-3 times a day and refill. Pretty dang cold here as well. Nighttime temps in the lower teens and highs struggle to reach above freezing during daylight hours. And haven't had more than a few hours of sunshine in a long time.

Just a suggestion, I have all my dogs microchipped. I think it cost around $10.

Thanks gents, yep notified everyone, posters with reward up also in two towns.
We walked that park for five days until we got blisters on our feet calling him.
If he`s on the park someone has him in their trailer because if he heard us calling he`d come running.
We went door to door with a bunch of places also.
If he sniffed our trail off the park he could be anywhere, just hope one of those filthy hotes didn`t get him.
It`s a bummer alright and hard to take but we`ve done all we can do.
