Goose,

That's Great!! I'd love'd to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation. How Neat!

And how cool is it at a lady owned an '86 and put it to good use!

Thanks!!! This has been a fun post!

We are just caretakers of fine arms. Too bad they all can't talk!

P.S. to my earlier post,
A big thank you to jnyork for help finding Sally Crabtree. Who as it turns out, actually knows her. Just goes to show you it really is a small world. Who knows, when they get older maybe one of my daughters will hunt with it just like Sally.

Your story reminded me of finding this:

inside the buttstock of grandpa's Winchester model 71 deluxe. He hollowed out the stock a bit.

Salt & pepper, fishing line & hooks, matches, tinder.
Thanks for the reminder.

I think ArticGoose's story with finding Sally and being able to talk with her and get the story of his (her) rifle is the coolest deal we have ever done here at Leverguns. What are the odds of this happening? As I told Goose, Sally is a real, no-nonsense Girl of the Old West, a heart of gold encased in true grit, I wish all of you could meet her. The West will be a sorrier place when she and her kind are gone. JN
