Yeah it does Jay. The bad part is, just a few degrees change in the weather can make what you drank for the last three months, inadequate because of perspiration. Hope he feels better. He might have had an episode of low blood sugar also. Hard to tell 600 miles away but did he eat before the work started? My ex FIL (a life long Mainiac) never ate before noon. Said it slowed him down for work. Course this is the same man who fell off of barn roofs TWICE because he would get “dizzy and light headed” about 11:00-11:30 am! Wonder why?🙄

Yeah he had eaten a little I think. He has been fine since. I'm leaning towards dehydration myself, but what the heck do I know haha.
Haha yeah. We Mainiacs are slow learners. :D

Ha! 50-100-450? Yea.....hold your breath......

Just came in from outside...........had my military Gor-Tex field jacket on.....POURING rain....walked down to the pond to see how my inventiong is working.....very well.....the 8" pipe is near full with the excess going out through the "escape hatch" off to the side of the pond.......

I eat about an hour after I get up...after my coffee, Skoal, and Chuck Schummer....which is about 1:00....got up early today, about 10 even though I got to bed late, about 3....it's usually to bed at 2 and up at 11-11:30...man!....me and mom were laughing so hard watching "Married with Children" , Gomer Pyle, and Beverly Hillbillies, Seinfeld............that stuff WOULD NEVER go over today, except Gomer..... .....then eat again around 8.......twice a day......

I get (you know) dizzy very easy if I don't eat or stay hydrated. If I'm working outside and sweating I'll start to shake....bad.....drink some orange juice with plenty of well water and I'm fine but I have to watch it carefully. My hands will shake so bad that someone looking at me would think I have Parkinson's......

Had an uncle (not blood) who died at 53 because he went to bed dehydrated and his vein collapsed......tell Pops to drink WATER before he goes to bed.----6

I am now diabetic and wear one of those instant read blood sugar moniters. I can get dizzy from low blood sugar, but dehydration is bad, too. I have found that water helps me keep my blood sugar regulated. If it goes up a little, drink water and my kidneys send it out. Dehydration and my sugar gets too low. Staying somewhere in the center keeps my sugar there, too.

Hey Gunny I like the way you think! Jack that would be fine, CCI receiver please. If you don’t want to spend the money I would settle for that low condition Marlin with the bad blueing job on the receiver. you know it has all those browns and blues, and tans and some purple. Too bad they couldn’t get a nIce blueing on that it’s all funny looking soo being the winner I would help you out and take that defective one off your hands. Don’t know why I am so good to you. I must like you or something.
Hey Jay you know medical advise is expensive so I won’t charge my usual diagnostic fee for your Dad if you and a certain magic coat go visit Six. I buy lunch and your gas, for that Marlin. OOPS did I say that out loud?

I saw a 45-70 Marlin that blew up and the guys hand. An 86 blew up here some years ago, 5744 powder, ??? Years ago. A 50 really cuts the margin. Hot rod a 375 or the like. Listen to what Six said.

Hey no problem Tom. I'd send you the coat to borrow but I don't like it out of my sight.
Besides, there are a few things at Jack's place I need to "pick up". :D

Well, I took a ride up to the range to see if I could get in this afternoon. Didn't have to winch so it looks like we are good to go. Got a couple loads to try. Some sighting in to do. Be good to get back at it.

Yea Gunny....it's a home made thing-a-ma-jig to keep the lid on for people like Old Savage who live in the earthquake zone or who have cats that like to knock things off of tables..........the more probable reason is to remind the operator that he must lift it off to add powder or change powder which will necessitate him to focus on what's inside of it.

If my buddy, the "other Gunny" would have had one on his he wouldn't have put 45 grains of Unique into a .260 case and freeze up the action to where he needed a new bolt and necessary mag na fluxing.........THEN...after spending the money and time he did it again......I was there......he tried to tell me the first freeze up was another issue and he used the same ammo of which a half dozen were loaded with unique.----6

Still stumped ? It was the mother of invention that caused me to make a.17 funnel. This was the 2nd go, the first was just a 338 bullet with the base filed off. The 3rd iteration is a copper funnel that fits the mouth of an RCBS funnel BUT it's got good for ball powder- leaks a bit. I forgot how much of a pain it is to load 17 Remington!!!

Wow! I knew that!!!! I didn't want to say anything as I didn't want to clue Jay in on it. :D

I'm really glad you said what it was because right now I'm full of mud, sweat, and aggravation and was going to tell you it was something some retart made for modern art class at some liberal college.

Not bad.....I've never fooled with anything 17 except pellet guns and I always thought some company made 17 powder measures anyway. I've made a few funnels from big cases like a 7 mag for pouring liquid items into small things.

Gotta shower....mud....covered with scratches from wild roses, branches...whatever. 6....o....da.........bro

BINGO, Griff gets it!
Six about 10 years ago I had a herd of deer here that knew the sound of my truck. As soon as I turned onto my street the deer would start to follow the sound, running for my yard so they could get their corn! Even had one that would step up on the deck and look through the back door! Yes the animals learn very fast how to live with mankind.

Looks like a nice day today! Might hit the range, sight in my 25-20, check zero on the 17, might even shoot my Roberts improved.

Did some yard work yesterday, kinda too windy to shoot groups with the 17 so I took Claro over to the fishing club for a walk and a swim. Of course she over did it! Limped the rest of the day. Threw her dummy in the pond and she balked at swimming. FETCH IT was all I had to say and she swam , (been a while since she last got to swim) anyhow she did 6 short water retrieves then we walked the upstream section of the river and back for a few more retrieves in the pond. I found a couple trees across our stocking road, going back to clean those up this morning. Then I'm going to fish.
This morning she is walking on all four, I really hope this is a good sign she just needs to get this leg back in shape!

Uh oh- the North & South have exchanged fire again! Korea that is...

Got out with the wife and a the pup for a Jeep ride yesterday. Rode up by the lot. Most of the snow is gone now.
Getting crazy up her. Big protest down in Augusta yesterday. People defying that moron lunatic governor we have. Guy over to Bethel re-opened his restaurant and brewery in defiance. He was on the Tucker Carlson show I guess ( I heard. I don't watch any network TV). The state pulled his licenses but he is going to run anyway. It is starting to spread. There is talk of a recall and a reconvening of the legislature to get rid of her stupid-azzed rules.
It's wacked.

Yesterday Larry the Cable guy was on a rant about Maine. He was really going off about your governor being a moron. When this is all said and done I believe the courts are going to be flooded with lawsuits.

Yes, my plan is to ease into the rehab, I kind of needed to know what she is capable of. We will keep walking for now, longer walks with some light retrieving and work into more robust training. Wish I had a swimming pool!

Well Gunny. Your pup is in good hands. Hopefully she is back to her old self soon.

I actually met our idiot governor governor. It was 20 years ago, but I don't think she has got any smarter since. I formed my opinion then.
I haven't witnessed anything that would make me change my mind.

Then I put on my waders, put the super mighty orvis 4 weight together and went fishin. I caught 1 - water still high. I then beat feet for the truck to deliver a fresh trout! Fred......why is your loading area so hospital clean? I bet there's not a speck of dust on any of that ammo.

RULES.......(in order to put the prefix/adjective "mighty" or "super mighty"

1.) "Super Mighty" is reserved for diesel engines or guns that weigh more than 15 pounds...."i.e." ....the super mighty Kubota or the super mighty BAR or in Griif's case, the super mighty Black Rose.

2.) "Mighty" is reserved for any "man product" but must be in the true sense of the word, "mighty" and must be relatively
expensive.
Examples.....the mighty Stihl (commercial models only)
.....the mighty golf clubs (only made in the USA.
.....the mighty chiropractic adjusting table such as one made by PHS

NO PREFIX/ADJECTIVE can be used for fishing rods, RCBS presses although a press made by the old defunct Hollywood company is acceptable.

The words "mighty" and "super mighty" are registered trademarks and cannot be used for ANY foreign made products with one exception, Kubota tractors.

GOT IT???

Sorry, I meant MIGHTY
As for sthil saws yup they are mighty heavy

As for RCBS presses, they are mighty more handy than lee hand presses

As for my fly rods they are mighty super colossal!

The Black Rose does indeed win the Mighty catagory but my mighty Cummins wins the mpg challenge
However the mighty 17 Rem wins hands down for FPS.

There should be a distinction between Mighty and mighty. Maybe there should be a distinction between "MIGHTY", "SUPERMIGHTY", and all permutations. You may recognize the I used very respectfully lower case no quotations. Seemed fit for RCBS.

Barry is a loser.....about the same as HW Bush and his weasel son.....all the lies that have been perpetrated upon us all to benefit the top .05 %. China! First it was the slaves, then the European immigrants, then the Mexicans, and then they ran out of people to use like dogs so they took the jobs to china...

On to fun things...I finished the Bridge on River Kwai. I have to thank my many years of study at the university to obtain my mechanical engineering doctorate degree to complete this bridge.whew! Got a little shaky at times but I finished it. Miss Apple helped me. The only money I have into it was for the 3" ceramic deck screws. I had these old 4 x 4 fence posts that were originally used to hold up fence...FORTY years ago. I saved some of them and stacked them out back about TWENTY years ago...cut them to 24" and ripped them in half on the table saw.

The long logs are 24 feet long Locust from the tornado...they will outlast everyone here.

Now when I want to reach a certain area of the pasture I don't have to walk all the way around the pond. I'm bringing in a demolition crew to blow up the old rotted bridge next to it...I'm told 20 pounds of C4 will be needed.

Image

This is the "enchanted island"...an area about 20' x 50' that is completely surrounded by swamp. This is where I'm going to put the tipi on and live out my days. yea Gunny...that's the "worlds finest wheelbarrow" with the pistol grip handles.

Image

This picture is taken from the island. I'm in the process of building a dirt bridge so I can get the SUPER MIGHTY Kubota on to the island. That fresh dirt is filling up the swampy area and then I will build a very small bridge over the stream (where the skunk cabbage is) for the Kubota.

Fred...I'm a NOBODY with no education past 2nd grade.....I meant 12 grade.

This is how little people pass the time....playing with Mother Nature....it's free.....and.....and.....a LOT less aggravating than dealing with people plus it's more satisfying..... It's pretty much how I grew up...in the woods, camping, playing with sling shots and such......

Sometimes I'll throw shiny pennies in the stream and pretend I'm a 49 er scooping up the gold. After I scoop them up I'll fire a couple of low noise pistol shots at rocks pretending they are Indians or other people out to steal my gold. I pretend my little dog as my black stallion.....Lots of good times can be had for free and a little imagination.

You think I'm joking about the tipi......when everything is done as I still have most of the willow tree to clean up and I have to get the Kubota to the island to clear out the pricker bushes using the loader....I'm going to order a tipi and have a fire ring......I'll camp out with the dog and tell her stories about wolves and buffalo and bad things that go bump in the night. :D When Miss Apple starts shivering I'll put her in her own little sleeping bag and go to sleep.

Hell, I'm retired and can do anything I please.------6 :D

So the email I got with that picture ID said the pic was yanked from socialist media just as fast as it was posted.

I knew a family in CO that lived in a tipi for many years while they were saving/ building their house.

That bridge isn't far off some I have driven over in Quebec bush country! Most of the bush bridges are just trees , 2 or 3 trunks per side spiked and wired together. My tuck at 9,000 + lbs sure tested them!

Claro seems to be walking much better! Hardly any limping yesterday. She still kinda slow on the stairs. Might play some fetch today to see how she does.

Well back to work this morning, might get this deck finished!?

Well I'm mighty.
Mighty useless. :D
Just couldnt bring myself to go to work last night.

Place looks great, Jack. Good work. Everyone has been busy here.
Think I will run up to the range for a bit this morning. No wind for a change.

I needed that. :D Thanks! NONE of us are useful all the time. The older I get the less useful I become. On the subject of work, there's a strong possibility I had the best ...or tied for the top 1% as to attendance for 44 years.....unless you did something really stupid they could not fire/demote/change your job if you came to work on time, everyday, ...and did your job to the best of your ability. That allowed me to be a rogue.

Yea Gunny...the one time I was in Quebec....'77......deep in the bush...we went over this "bridge"....we were in my BIL's Chevy dually pick up truck and I had to get out to guide the truck.....for real, the outer tires of the rear tandems were in the air. I told my BIL, be careful, I don't want to see my Model 71 go into the creek!

OK, master Gunny.......my version of "mother of invention".....what is it? ---6

Nice morning at the range. FINALLY got out with the old 73. Jack sent me some cast 44s about 2 years ago to try in it. I have a mint factory Winchester 44 mold but it throws them too small. Kept keyholing and just wouldn't work with smokeless.
I think these babies show promise! This was just 8.0gr. Unique. I was surprised at my velocity. Higher than I expected. I shot it a 50yd. and it did well. Had a flyer but it was me or a clean barrel I think. With this velocity, I'd have no problem hunting with this load.

Last of the decking is completed! None too soon - its tough on the knees & back !! Nice day here except for the WIND! constant 10-15 , supposed to be close to freezing by morning. Wintry mix on Friday- hey someone tell the weatherman is May !?

So what to do with my stimulus check...? What can I get Buff Jay to borrow from Six for 1200 smackers ?

Well I'm no 'lectrician but I'm guessing it's a new fangled left handed smoke shifter switch !?

Yes I'd say that load is more than adequate for a deer blaster!
