Mescalero,
Sorry to inform you the ladies do not care for the distinguished look or for any look as far as looks are concerned. After living 55 years, there is only one look they are after, and thats the "green look" as in $$$$$$-----Sad, but true.

From here on in until my last days, my children and my dogs take precedence in my life. Well, I'll sure keep a little extra room for my Winchesters and Colts. :D

mescalero 1,
Look at the face of O.S. when he is holding a great looking gal (gosh, he has held many more than all of us put together. ) Look closely at the expression on his face! He has that same expression that when a young lad receives his first ever Red Ryder BB gun has!
Except I wonder inside his head with that wonderous bright mind of his what he is thinking of! I would wager it being not shooting a tin can! Lord love that guy! Wish we were all that Happy!

Well madman maybe it is the inner joy you describe they feel. But I venture so say seeing you they get weak in the knees.

Now, tell the Hottie Wife we are looking forward to her appearance - certainly to balance you off and we are a civil bunch here. Appreciators of lovely women as a blessing of life.

I was walking out of the office one day with a buddy who hunts all over west and always wants to talk guns. He also does some rodeo and is a model for western clothes, big, good looking, light hair, blue eyes. We are walking by some cars and a gal gets out and sees him and goes deer in the headlights. I was between them and caught in the line of fire. I thought wow if this is what Barry has to deal with no wonder he is in hot water half the time. He just smiled and said howdy ma'am. His gal looks like OJs deceased wife.

O.S. With those nice words your being too kind to me. Its because you are the "whole package" that women adore you.I would do well to even remotely follow in your footsteps! Now, I will try to get the wifes pic on board here,I almost just went ahead and put it on a few days ago but I need her full consent or she will be upset with me. But, I will go ahead and make the bold statement to say she is a very "steaming hot women" Why she chose me????????? Probably could have done much better. See ya!

Lastmohecken - thanks, it was a lot of fun. hunted with 86er and a bunch of the levergunners here. The shiloh sharps is a shooter and put a 500 grain Govt Round nose through the spine and lungs of this buff at about 70 yards. I personally think the wood is pretty fantastic on this one.

Yuppers that's AZ alright, out where we used to go plinking and digging up mounds and chasing lizards and busting open geodes, all that good stuff. That stuff is paved over and built up for miles and miles.

Dad's truck and yup, I think the six-shooter is probably on the seat just out of the picture. I'd guess the leather was for a cap pistol, but around about that time I owned a Webley forty something break action revolver that was a hoot to shoot. Can't recall if it ever got carried in that holster. I used to ride hundreds of miles bouncing in the back with my brothers and sister and friends. Got to be in Mexico to live that good now.

BF Goodrich sneakers and pantlegs rolled up halfway to the knees. Life is good... when you have meat and heat:

That's sitka spruce, a small one; not very good firewood. Burns fast, like paper towels, lots of ash, not a lot of BTUs, and won't bank coals. But if it's what's available, it's what I burned. I liked it for starting a hot fire and getting wetter wood going.

The good old days...,

Ahhhh yes Grizz......the desert was truly a kid's playground, catching horny toads and lizards and digging holes. Even in the early 70's there was alot of desert for the average kids to explore. We lived near the old Skaggs/U-Totem on the Mesa/AJ line but easy to just walk out into the desert. Lots of space to shoot near the Superstitions and all around, dirt trails...etc, and my Dad would openly carry his Security Six on his hip when out riding his Yamaha enduro. Great place to grow up then. Now....there's more dope and hot angry people there than anything else!

I liked the superstitions too. We spent more time up towards Carefree and the Rim, and couple of trips a year into the White Mountains around Show Low for trout and just getting out of the stinking hot valley. Dad loved the heat but it nearly killed me.

Are you still there? My sister lives there still and I can't figure out how she does it.

If you are asking me, yes, but only for a few more days.
I will be heading to N.M. and will not be around untill I get internet up there.
The valley has just gotten too big for me, and I have always had the place in N.M. and always intended to retire there.

Not any more Grizz, but have 4 brothers and my Mom there and my Dad and another 1/2 brother in Flagstaff. I get back there when I can but not often. We always camped on the Mogollon Rim as well, and the White Mtns. For a boy that had never seen snow, that was something! Always remember my Dad killing a Racoon with his 22 mag. only Single Six in the middle of the night, as he tried to get into our cooler.

Mescalero...yep! Drugs were always there, but boy, have things have changed a bunch!

Just to stay On topic...more pics: my Dad and me in Pagosa Springs last year:
