Good job Doc, you pushed it to 6 pages! :D

Only a thread on Leverguns can make it to 6 pages and 100 posts with virtually no meaningful content. Ain't this great? We are a forum of tarts. :D -----------------------6

you being a "drunk" may be interesting on other forums, but not here...we're friends here, and your collective friends want you sober, healthy, happy, good-looking, married (ok maybe NOT married) with more leverguns than you know what to do with...plus the weather is starting to break in the Pacific NorthUS, you should be out riding your bike... :)

I'm outta date... my definition of "tart" doesn't include "troll". I think some of you are missing the point of his post. He had a former gun, and wanted to be told exactly how to go about rebuilding it. He wanted numbers and measureable data to prove that if we disapproved his concept. Numbers and data that would only be available thru engineering data on the original design of the pistol... not otherwise available to anyone except those that may have reverse engineered the metallurgy of the original.

Not information that even master gunsmiths will possess. Yes, they might know that a particular firearm is made of a specific metal, and what it's Rockwell hardness is... and if welding of such is necessary, they may know how to weld and re-anneal, but... are they doin' it "by-the-numbers" or the seat of their pants? I don't know. And I don't really care, except when it comes to them working on MY gun.

Frankly, I won't criticize "nobody", but I did and continue to question whether proceeding with his stated project is viable. I don't think so, regardless of what other amatuers might think. And like I told him, contact a well-known Ruger-smith and ask his questions. Denigrating him was not productive.

All considered,
Why did he come here to make inquiry?
Was he already rebuffed on the Ruger forums?
He seemed ready to receive critisism from the original post.
He also stated that he would not accept no.... or be detered.
We should not have encouraged or emboldened him.

Hey Griff, who says what we say has to be important? I say its more fun being a tart. Did 'ya ever drive by a looney-tune hospital? The doctor called whack jobs are standing outside and waving to everyone while the normal people in their cars are looking miserable. Now, who's stupid?

Wadda say guys? You all wanna be tarts? Blaine, you have no choice, Like me, being a drunk won't get you out of this.----Sixgun

Well, what then is a tart? But then enough of the mundane - on to the 289 Model T :) Number, specs etc. What do you suppose she will do on the skid pad?

I must have been standing somewhere close to her when she did it.
When I wrote it I thought it was way too profound for it to be original from me.

Definition of a "tart". Back when I was in grade school (4 years ago?) we used to call stupid people "retarts" instead of "retards". We were just kids and who cares about correct wording. As the years went on in grade school (23?) we shortened it to plain old "tart".

At work, I got all the guys in the shipping dept. calling each other "tart" and I hear guys all the time saying,"whats a tart"? :D

I got workers at Targetmaster telling me, "Yo Jack, we had a couple of "tarts" come in today, man! talk about stupid!"

Now people at the Leverguns forum are calling people "tarts"

So there you have it, a very own member of Leverguns coining the word, "tart" :D

Lighten up, life is short :D --------------6

DO I HEAR "7"? DO I HEAR "7 PAGES"?

Na. No permission, you just need to be a "tart". :D I had to redo mine as its always common courtesy to include "tart" with your real handle. :D ------Sixgun

Well guys, I am impressed. You so ticked off the fella that he went back and conscientiously removed every post's content. But I do remember the initial post and it had the air of trolling so I let it go and this is what we got. I suppose some of you might learn from it, clearly our friend didn't want to learn from us. However, since this is going nowhere I'm locking the topic.
Sincerely,

Hobie
