They must be, of all men, most miserable...
No more so than those that mistakenly confuse "honesty" with a misguided drive to be insulting to most others.

I think there may be another factor involved as well.
When I first found this great place , I was using a fancy Packard Bell computer with a super fast 286 processor , it had a huge 40 mega- bite memory and accessed the internet with a blazing 14 ( whatever it was ) dial-up modem. I think we paid around 2 grand for that super fast set up at the time
The time it took to load a page , read it , and then if you had 5 min to wait for it to upload you could post a reply ( as long as someone didn't try calling you on the phone during that time ) may have ALSO contributed to the fewer off topic posts .
Now with memory measured in giga bites , hi - speed cable modems , and super fast processors ( compared to then ) Posts load up instantly , replys just as quick . There for , If you spent an hour back then reading 6 or 7 threads and maybe make a reply or two you were doing good . Compared to now when that can be accomplished in just a few minutes , leaves 45 or 50 min of that same hour to also discuss other things that members have a common interest in.
Just a thought .

Very good point, 1894! I, too, remember all too well those days when one had to carefully ration what posts one could read and/or answer due to simple time constraints.
Point well taken!

What i don`t understand is why those that this board has become so bad too keep coming here and reading threads and complaining to the members here. Why don`t you take it up with the owners and moderators of the board, it`s not our job or want to have to argue with or read your discontent with this board.
I have got a lot of support on this board and have started a lot of threads about leverguns including videos of shooting them and i don`t see any of you replying on those threads.
I`ve posted a lot of off topic stuff too but no more than anyone else and if the moderator or owner told me to stop i would.
I`d appreciate it if you old fanny burp complainers would either pitch in and say something constructive or go away and leave the fine people of this board alone.
Your ruining my relaxing peace of mind here.

How hateful and intolerant some men can be, who try to preach us tolerance and love...

these are the "worthless" of all threads...nothing good comes from this...nothing positive or helpful...stuff like this only separates us and divides us...i hope my post is the last...way too much digital ink has been spilled over the useless topic... :(
