Hey Fellers, I'm an old farmer in Arkansas, been lurking around on the site for a while. Took me 6mo of trying to get admitted to the site. Started hand loading in the mid 50's with a tong for a 30-30 and a Lee hammer rig for my shotgun, come a little ways since then. Still shooting and loading, love my lever rifles and my hand guns, can still hunt a little, mostly deer and varmints here on the farm and prairie dogs when I can find them. Don't do the facebook thing have been on accurate shooter since it was called 6br, born too early for computers and can't seem to operate them very well, but now you know who I am... John

Hey Feller, no I'm in Hot Spring county on the Ouachita River at Friendship. De Roche Creek (which is the county line between Clark and Hot Spring county) runs into the Ouachita right in the middle of my farm, I'm actually in both Hot Spring and Clark countys but my mail comes to Friendship..... John, glad you finally made it through the turnstyle, and boy that's a dandy buck! I still have my old Lee Loader for 16 gauge, but haven't seen a canister of Alcan 7 in many a year.

.
The problem with the gun in that photo is the lever’s complex on the side not the bottom… :D

Welcome here.

Be sure you are getting your kids grandkids nieces nephews and neighbor kids INTERESTED in guns too…!

The guy who got me interested in guns (and history and science) just passed away and I realize the legacy of motivated folks like me he left behind. We all need to do that.

I can relate to all that! Even a levergunner, myself an example, from end deer season till fall, I start getting my 30-06 especially and occasionally a 270, and pledge I'm gonna convert to, probably the 06 because I love that rifle! Have had it ready last two seasons, then come time hunt, I grab my Mod 64 usually in 30-30 & iron sights! NO REGRETS YET!
But Townsend Whelen was right, only accurate rifles are interesting. But ranges for their use appl8es, so I love em all, man's just gotta know limitations of his rifle!
Hey, trim that beard just a tad, you'll be almost as lovely as me ?!!! Big welcome and man a fine deer!

Welcome! That's some beautiful country down there but I didn't care for the snakes! I keep to the cold country that I was made for now. This place is a wealth of knowledge and good folks, enjoy.

Thank you Fellers for a warm welcome, I figured that you fokes were my kind of people after watching the site for a while. To make some of the bunch feel better when I could walk all day in rough country I carried this favorite of mine many a mile... still use it for hogs when I in a UTV... John

Welcome to the camp fire, John! :D

+1 on others comments about the suppressor. Just a civilized use of modern technology to reduce hearing damage to the shooter and anyone near by. If only the government understood this.

Fine looking Mod 71! I'm in same boat, hunt big mountains, and ride a 4w to 99% of my spots, stay on that level. Really bad breathing, and another reason I favor my Mod 64 in 30-30, easiest packing and quick on target as any rifle i know!
