RIA M200

Recently got a RIA M200 .38 Special. A clone of the Colt Police Positive, and made on the old Colt machinery. PillHer really likes it.

The group almost on the X is hers. 6 shots. I bought it for myself. It is hers now.

Not bad at all. What do you think about the quality of those? If I remember correctly, doesn't RIA import those from another country?

I believe that they are made in the Philippines.

That looks like pretty a good shooter, Brian.

I was going to buy one not long ago, but something else caught my eye that day. Looks like I'm going to have to put one back on the list.

Brian, those have tempted me as well. Did not know they were made on the old Colt machinery. RIA makes some firearms worth owning.

Happens to me fairly often... :D

But when she shoots a group like that it sure makes sense for it to become hers...!

Quality appears good. The left hand Colt twist to the rifling is interesting. It feels good in my hand, but it has become PillHer's. The cost is only about $300, and it locks up solid.

I just looked up reviews and such on them,pretty much all agreed it was inexpensive but solid and accuracy while not the best was decent...sounds "good enough".
I'm going to look into one, I gave my son my old Ruger security six and kinda miss it, and I still have plenty of components to fill up.... :mrgreen:

I remember hearing the same about the tooling when Colt re-introduced its cap and ball revolvers, circa 1980. In both cases, I think it was a rumor that helped increase sales....
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

The left hand twist rifling is what makes me think it was Colt's old machinery. Looks backward to me.
