Córdoba Argentina 2024
Landed at the Córdoba airport at about midnight on Saturday . Arrived at the lodge around 01:30 . Had a lite snack showered slept until 07:00 ate breakfast relaxed a bit had lunch and headed to the field Sunday afternoon . Shot a Beretta 686 20 gauge on Sunday and only shot six boxes killed sixty my shooting was a bit off . Monday AM took the same 20 and a 686 28 . Shot two boxes of 28’s and eight boxes of 20’s and killed 150+ . Tuesday we went to a feeder lot the previous two days we’d been in a sunflower field . At the feeder lot we were shooting pigeons so I used a Benelli Montefeltro 12 gauge and shot 19 boxes and let the bird guy shoot a box for two flats total . I killed 414 pigeons and my bird guy got 20 . I had several singke shot two birds down but the eye opener was a one shot FOUR birds down , I saw two but my bird guy said I got two more as well . We’re going back out today (Wednesday morning) for three hours then settle up load up and off to a hotel by the airport in Córdoba as our flight doesn’t leave until 01:30 Thursday .

Would love to hunt red stag down there, but it is not likely to happen. Argentine hospitality is legendary.

Nice!
I've never had a four-fer! I did a three-fer on doves.
If I went down there I'd need a shoulder replacement cuz I wouldn't stop shooting! Man there is nothing as much fun as wing shooting!

We had one guy that shot 5,500 shells , his ammo bill was 5k . I screwed my shoulder up last year by not placing the gun in the correct place before I pulled the trigger . With the 20 O/U 250 shells a day was plenty . The Benelli Montefeltro 12 wasn’t bad I shot 475 yesterday and 125 today . Honestly the Benelli 12 had less perceived recoil than the 20 O/U ,

Re: Córdoba Argentina 2024
For a shoot like that I'd either want a heavy ( trap gun) or a gas operated semi.
The Benelli is using up energy in the bolt cycle that would otherwise be hitting your shoulder.
Those shoots would be a real gain if a guy was ambidextrous - even out the hurt!
Yeah the Beretta 680 series guns just don't fit 'right' for that volume and they are lighter.
5 grand for ammo- geeze! Was he at least a good shooter?

You’re at the mercy of the options the outfitter has for you to shoot , as it’s a veritable PITA to bring your own . I also wouldn’t wanna take some of my prized SxS’s down there for fear of theft . To me the 686 20 was a touch to long , the 28 not as bad . The Montefeltro however was about the right LOP . Not saying you’re wrong but over the course of the day a really heavy target gun would tire you out from lifting it , as I lifted the guns a great deal more than I pulled the trigger .GunnyMack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 2:35 pm For a shoot like that I'd either want a heavy ( trap gun) or a gas operated semi.

That looks like an amazing trip. Great pictures ... appreciate the post. Bummer that it's too risky to take your own guns.

Re: Córdoba Argentina 2024
Yep, I get the whole at the mercy of the outfitter per what guns the have. No way I would bring my own. Alli in all that's a trip of a lifetime for a serious wing shooter, glad you made it happen!
It's almost unfathomable the numbers of birds down there, even better all those birds become table fare for the locals.
