I've never shot a levergun at 200yds that I remember, yet?

I forget the details, but I believe I had only lightly crimped, and some definitely was pushing the bullet back in the mag.

I have a BLR in 300 win mag , I have shot a three shot group at 110 yds where the three holes intersected each other. I was seeing how well I could shoot. At a bench, at a range, used a lead sled, vortex scope, hand loads (78gr of 7828,180gr hornady spire point). Always meant to continue the work to see just how good it could be, also have a marlin 1895 cowboy 26" 45-70 405gr that also shoots well, (46gr of IMR 4198, 405gr wfn LBT bullet, at 2000 fps) .

The rebirth of this thread has me itching to get back out to the range and fire some rounds out of my mdl 94, striving for a better outing than my last one. As I was reading it from the beginning, not bothering to look at the date of the OP, I was thinking of my answer... and SURPRISE! There it was, just as I posted 2 years ago!!! :D :D

LOL I still haven't tried out my 35 Rem XLR with any 'accuracy handloads'...

Life just keeps screwing with me; I need a nurse practitioner who doesn't mind having to work to earn a paycheck.

Galatin, that is some very fine shooting! Have to hand it to the BLRs for re-defining modern lever gun accuracy. I suspect my Marlin Model 36 could do some very fine work, but with my 70-year-old vision and iron sights -- even with an aperture rear -- I would not expect anything particularly noteworthy at 100 or beyond.

I have a Savage 99E in 243 that shoots like a custom bolt gun, it shoots a ragged hole at 100yd.
never have put it on paper at 200 yd. but prairie dogs out too 300 yd. is no problem, coyotes if standing
out to 400 most of the time take a deadly hit, prairie dogs are a small target & a bit of wind can make it
very hard to connect past the 200 yd. mark
