When I first heard that, it was said as: "Spectacles, testicles, vallet and vatch ..."

Kinda tells you something about the 'ol man who said it.

Reminds me of when my littlest brother, about age 4, proudly showed off his knowledge of the Bible, made up of the Old Testicle and the New Testicle. Omigosh we older ones laughed and laughed ...
Sorry Rev. Jim, gettin' out of control here.

You don't need to apologize to me, Bill.
And I know I have preached sermons and pastored but anyone who knows me can you that I have very rarely been reverend. :D

I've had a morning ritual for many years while getting ready to go to work....call it the "B's"... 8)
I mentally recite the list while loading up.

The older we get, the more forgetful we get. Nothing wrong with mnemonic sayings.

I am not getting forgetful... There's just so many files up in the noggin, that it takes a while to find the right one! Not a problem when you're younger, not so many files!

.
1. Gun (you can use it to get attention and get wife to let you back in house if you forget your...)
2. Keys (so you can get back in house if you forget your...)
3. Wallet (so you can go buy another one if you forget your...)
4. Multitool (so you can fix stuff or cut stuff....and...)
5. Flashlight (so you can see what you're fixing, cutting, or shooting...)

Lately I'd add

0. Pants of some sort (so you have a place to carry the Gun...)
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

Reminds of the nervous young preacher who got his introductory words transposed and said, "If I can find my peter I'm going to preach on text."

B.T.W., re the o.p., I concur with the replies that mention flashlights. Booger dark deep inside buildings even in the daytime when away from windows.
