Steve's Gunz' bolt peep aperture?

Post by Naphtali »

I intended to buy a bolt peep a few minutes ago - a stainless steel version. I did not find this version available. Yet I remember, I think??, that they were available.

Since corresponding with Steve is challenging, I hope that I can find answers here.
- Are stainless steel bolt peeps available from Steve?

- Would he make one upon prepaid special order?

- If neither is available, I WANT TO BUY a stainless steel bolt peep from any present owner willing to sell.

Check out Skinner sights.
They have different versions of bolt peeps, as well as barrel mounted peeps that go where the rear sight would.

Note: Due to mfg variations on the pin that holds the bolt safety in, you'll find that using the 'as delivered' indent in the collar that Steve's peep sight comes with may result in the sight being lose.

The correct way to deal with it is to make your own indent by placing the collar in the bolt with the indent away from the pin hole, inserting the pin in it's hole and then tapping it with a hammer lightly to mark where you will use a small rat tail file to make a correctly placed indent in the collar.

Make sure to file the indent a bit undersized so the pin bites into the collar for the best fit.
