California legislature passes 11% tax on guns, ammunition

Post by COSteve »

Doesn't look good for those of you in California. An 11% 'excise tax' on guns and ammo will make firearms ownership that much more expensive for honest, law abiding citizens (which is the whole point of the tax). I wonder if the law includes components that would also affect reloaders as well.

That's on top of the 11% excise tax the gubbermint has already imposed!

It's time to start drilling along the San Andreas , set big charges and set those west coast mo-rons adrift.

The fools are either clueless or being paid off by the gun companies. They are oblivious to the fact that actions like this only spur more sales...

I wonder if the taxing of a Constitutional right would be found to be analogous to a poll tax and found to be unconstitutional?

How any gun owner chooses to continue to live in California is beyond me? I'd be exiting that place as fast as I could sell, and pack my guns!

I suspect a poll tax is coming.

For a select segment of the voters.
