I was having trouble lifting the the Loading gate as I have neck and back Issues and saw some of the commercial gate assist but some of them are upwards of $200.00
So I made this one and all the Marerials was only about 50 Bucks delivered from Home Depot and Lowes.
The springs are Garage door opener rated at 140 pounds eye bolts and quick links.
I was going to use both springs that come on the set but after putting on the first spring it was so easy to lift the gate I Left the second spring off. I can now lift it with 2 fingers !
and although I do not another trailer I have another spring and bolrs and washers and quick couplings to do another one all for only about 50 bucks.
Is Lifting the loading gate on your trailer to tough ? Try this

.
That’s cool.
How did you find the right place to put the spring to get the tension just right? Trial and error with a clamp?

Thank’s
I just figured the spring would do the most good placed close to the top of the gate, then just a natural angle where all the slack was taken out and drilled the hole in the frame .

If you know someone who installs automatic garage doors, you can probably get the spring free.

Don't have a trailer like that, but as I get older I sure appreciate the newer pickup tailgates. I'm just surprised no truck maker has come up with an electric tailgate.
