This Accurate mould throws some beautiful bullets!

Gunny, glad you have a chance to pour up a batch of those big beauties. I just double-checked and out my range scrap alloy, they weighed around 258 grains!
Also glad you are having a rainy day. We surely could use one here in west central Texas.

Well Bill the mix I have in the pot was a batch of bullets I ordered as .338, the guy sent .323. Out of your mould they are running 243+/- , not far off the expected 245 the mould is listed as. I'm happy!
I poured 100 and decided to call it quits as some big thunder boomers are on the way- my luck the power would go out and I'd forget to unplug the lead pot !

Just mic'd 5 bullets, all at .411- .4125ish.

I can say I don't like this new Lee pot!- the hole is too far under causing me to have to bend down to see the opening .last time I used the pot I made a riser block so it was closer to eye level BUT I forgot I had the riser...

Only wish it was a double cavity !

For once the Hodgen site didn't fight with me, I was able to get some data for 3 powders I have, Universal, LongShot and 296.
I loaded 5 each of LongShot and 296 and 13 of the Universal. All the empty brass I had on hand.
Going to try to go try them out later.

Will, be advised that Longshot is nicknamed "Loudshot" for a reason -- but it is still a good powder. Wear hearing protection!

I use Longshot in my 28, never noticed it being loud but 28" barrels.

Longshot out of a revolver gives pretty good accuracy. Yes, it is louder than 296/H110.

I tried long shot behind those bullets out of this mould yesterday, from my Henry at 50 was a nice inch or so group, as was the group I shot with universal. The 296 group was 2 almost touching and I wiffed the trigger squeeze on the third! Need more trigger time!!
And best of all they shot just a touch low at 100 but I was able to hit a 4" gong at that distance.

Will, that boolit is still carrying a lot of mail at 100 yards. I'm sure it would whistle through a whitetail and scarcely slow down.

Exactly what I was thinking Bill!
I know when I whalloped that 4" gong and it flipped up and over the frame they had some oomph!
Maybe next time I'll remember my Blackhawk to try them out of !

Just fired up the pot, gonna pour some more.
