Ruger-Marlin 1894

Post by TraderVic »

Marlin rolled out their new 1894 today. I'm wanting a 357, but will have to wait. The new rifle is only offered in 44 mag with a 20" barrel.

I've been hoping they do a Trapper in 357, but now that I see the 44 has a 1 in 20 twist I'm tempted.

MSRP US $1239.00. Wonder what the "street price" will be?

Ooh the 1:20 twist is a nice touch; that’s the twist of the Ruger 96/44 levergun and 77/44 bolt action.

easy to bob the barrel to trapper length. unless the extra 4 inches makes the 44 mag way more powerful . . . LOL  :D

I noticed more people getting the 1895 Trapper when it came out for much closer to MSRP and a couple cases even a little under MSRP. Market on those seemed to be much cooler than when the SBL first came out. I expect to see the new 1894s to hit the market similar to the 1895 Trapper. Of course there will be a some outliers here and there trying to sell them for $2g or more. But I think Marlin-Itis is waning. The bubble is deflating

It has the pregnant fore stock and misshapen trigger guard. It is aesthetically challenged.
