Gun show deal!

Post by marlinman93 »

No, not another rifle or pistol. And since I have my gun room torn up I didn't even setup at the show. Just went there to visit, and look around. But just before leaving I made a quick look around, 5 hrs. after the show opened. Not sure how these lasted 5 hrs. at the price, but they were still there! Sitting on the corner of his table were a pair of suede covered leather barrel bags for bench shooting. One large, and one magnum size, and marked $5. I thought $5 ea. was a bargain, but then a friend told me to look closer; it was $5 for the pair!
Somebody at our gun club recently decided to remove all the sand bags we had for bench rests, so last trip out I got caught by this surprise, and had to fold up a rag to put on my .30 cal. ammo can to rest my barrel. So the timing was perfect today! I'll take my Caldwell rest next time, and use one of these bags on it. Love these little bargain buys at our local small show!

Cool!

I really enjoy the smaller shows around here. My dad and went to one on Saturday and found some good stuff.
I haven't seen a box of 7.62x54r like these before. The boxes are beat up and missing most of the ends, but they were both full and only $20!

I also bagged a Winchester Model 1917 that's in great shape. I sold the one I had years ago and the price tag on this one caught me by surprise. That and the 5 digit SN# and 10-17 barrel date made me bring it home.

Good Stuff!

Jason, I can't wait to see photos of that!!!

I am missing the 1917 in my collection, but haven't been able to find one at a decent price. I passed on one 25 years ago for $350. Kicking myself good on that!

Our monthly OAC collector shows always have good stuff for same, and never any off topic nuts, jerky, or toys. We keep it gun and edged weapons strictly, and members or the public really appreciate that.
We also have monthly themes for our shows for guys who want to display related items on their tables. Tables are only $10 for the day, so it allows guys to display or sell, and not pay out big money. Next month is a favorite for many, as the theme is "Remington firearms".
