I shot skeet with a Striker shotgun once, and used my lever action 357 against my son's AR-15 for nighttime competition, but this is even stranger...

I'm pretty sure the military has them that shoot large projectiles in excess of 4,000 fps, but they are mounted on trucks...

Of course remember the HUGE laser sights in the 1980's, like on the Terminator's "Forty-five Longslide"...?

Now instead of a foot-long fragile thing of low power, but still requiring a huge external battery and cord, they are the size of a lima-bean, and immersible...and cost a tenth the price...

So maybe someday...
