I hope it turns out for your better like it did me. In 2010, I had a little accident at work, but I thought I might have a broken rib? Up to that point I never went to the Dr for anything except when I had too for flu and such. But this Dr knew my family, and me, and he just checked me, did blood work and all. I don't remember the #'s but my thyroid count was by far the lowest he'd ever seen. Said it effected everything one of my organs,, could have a heart attack,, etc.. He said no way was I to go back to work, bit I did and assured him I'd be ok, and started on a lower dose of Synthroid.
I thought I was on speed, I didn't know how sick I was until I started getting better. Every 2 weeks he'd up the dose, and I'd Rev up again, until he got me leveled out, and I was like a new man.
Really, the thyroid count had slowly dropped, and my body adjusted to it, but after I got leveled out, I felt 20 years younger, I just thought old age was that tough.
It was effecting my several things in my blood work, but after I got ok, everything now checks good, I go every 6 months for bloodwork. My ribs was not broken, and not for the accident I'd kept going. And it could've killed me he made that clear!
I pray it works out for your better, Lord knows how to get us took care of!

Blaine, you've got my prayers, too -- and I hope they knock you out for this procedure -- or at least give you a Xanax horse pill.

.
As long as it is a benign cyst, restoring your thyroid level to normal should be a piece of cake. You'll feel way way better most likely.
