Winter & a New Year..

Post by TraderVic »

I think it's time to take my annual ride with Gus and Woodrow starting this evening. The forecast here (WI) is 5° Saturday and 4° Sunday (colder where Lenn is though). The Lopi woodstove in the living room is burning 24/7, putzing in the basement re-rigging six tipups (for ice fishing) and several jigging rods.
Anyway, Happy New Year to you ALL !

That sounds like a mighty cozy way to ring in the new year, rigging tipups. Hadn't heard "Lopi" woodstove in years. They made good ones.
Vic, I have kin buried in Sauk County. Hope to pay my respects someday before it is my turn.

Vic, great-great Granddad George Wood had a farm near Ironton when his three older sons all enlisted in the Union Army in Janesville. The eldest was in the First Wisconsin Infantry, and the two younger ones, including my own great grandfather, enlisted in the 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry. Two of the three came home. Always wanted to see that country.
