Some excitement at the hunting property
I'm in a club, we have a private stretch of river and a farm we own . This morning was a new one on me.
I arrived at 8am, I build a fire in the clubhouse and then walk the dog before we stock pheasants. I pulled in to see the bird crates outside of the bird house. Then realized what happened Ol Ursus Americanus decided he wanted a free meal. Its amazing a bear would want birds to eat but this one sure tried. All the birds were alive but I bet they had one heck of a ride!
We scrambled to repair the house and as I was putting the lock back i noticed the lock had indentations in the brass body. I guess the bear grabbed the padlock and the jamb and yanked it all apart.

One hungry bear! We've had them rip the cedar siding off of our cabin a couple of times. Chasing bugs are far as I could tell.

Like big squirrels. They get into and destroy almost anything.
I had one of those automated deer feeders at camp many years ago. It was basically a driveway sealer pail with the projector under it. Those pails are very thick and tough steel. I had it spiked in a tree about 6' up.
Bear comes along and licks where the feed came out until it plugged. I guess then he was hungry AND annoyed. He ripped the feeder down from the tree and bit THROUGH the pail until he ripped the top off. Cleaned up the whole 5 gallons of feed.

Re: Some excitement at the hunting property
Up here in north Joisey there is the famous belly shot used , a .22 in the guts and forgeddaboutit. That's a sad and unethical practice but the people up in Sussex can't use their yards, keep livestock, let pets out etc without fear of the bears will snatch Fido, eat their kids. The state has been trapping the problem bears and relocating them up there for years. The people are sick of it, the governor is ignorant to the fact the population is out of control, but what do you expect from a libitard antigun/hunting dipstick.
