What a friend!!!

Post by Mainehunter »

Haven't posted anything in awhile. Between working a lot especially on the weekends just to keep up and just purchased a nice chunk of land to build my shop, I don't have time anymore like I used to. Just the other day a good friend who I haven't seen since the holidays stopped by and dropped off a very nice gift. A 1968 Savage 99C in 308 Win. At first I thought it needed a repair or something but he said his dad decided to purge his collection and knew that I liked Savage 99's and thought I can use it but the catch is he cannot find the clip. I asked how much for the Savage and he said "If you can find a clip, it' yours to keep". What a friend to have! :D

Nice!
I had one if those once upon a time. It was shortened to 18" and wore a peep sight. It was a great shooter.
I don't know why that got away......... :?

That's pretty cheap compared to GB or Ebay that I've seen. Average is $90!

I looked at that again and didn't realize it's aftermarket clip.

No problem! I prefer factory when I find one. The funny thing is I found a aftermarket clip on GB going for $80!

I have one just like that. I bought it to get it bored to a 358 Win. But my brother needed a gun for deer hunting and I threw a scope on it, sighted it in. It shoots so good that I couldn't bring myself to have it converted.
