I hate to ask, but it is not for me.

My wife Kathy is in the Methodist Transplant Hospital in San Antonio tonight.

She is on the liver transplant list and her condition sometimes causes her to have certain chemicals build up in her system that mess up her cognitive ability. Tonight is one of those times.

When this has happened in the past, I was able to stay right there with her. But these days, I am not permitted.

If you are a praying man, I would appreciate a good word for a good woman.

Prayers up, for sure.

Also - don't hesitate to be 'pushy' about getting to the bedside - often an understanding nurse or social worker can get it allowed. Much of the medical staff realizes the restrictions are silly anyway, and just something the administrators want.

Medical people KNOW that having loved-ones at the bedside helps patients more than most of the high-tech stuff we do anyway.

Regardless, prayers for the both of you.

I know the feeling... when we found out my wife had cancer, I was reluctant to seek prayers for her... But they sure helped me. On my knee I ask the Lord that the Doctors have their hands and minds guided by His wisdom.
