flat earth...

Post by Buck Elliott »

Can someone explain why my log-in so often seems to fall off the edge of the Earth..?
Sometimes, I'm good for a week, or even a month, while other times, it's gone in a day or two, or overnight, or even a couple hours.
Apparently, the "remember me" function doesn't mean a thing - or does it..?
And No, I'm Not "asking for a fruend.."
Regards

Buck

IF you clean you computer, iPad, phone of cookies your login will disappear. As long as at some point you used the REMEMBER ME all you should have to do is get a letter in the login box and it should autofill.

If I recall correctly, bookmark and ALWAYS log in at https://levergunscommunity.ORG That should save your cookies properly for the next time. Unless your browser is set up to not allow such. You can log in at https://levergunscommunity.COM, but it redirects to the .ORG address. So always go to https://levergunscommunity.ORG

Are you logging in at the .org address with cookies enabled? Just trying to figure out how to help folks. It works on the server end, so we need to figure out how to help folks on the browser end.

Even if you're using the .org address, you also have to use https:// access. It will promptly forget you if you try http:// access. It want's the secure link.

In the past I have cleared all caches and accepted cookies and everything else that was recommended twice. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on my computer or my phone using Safari or chrome. 99% of the time I’m reading it on my phone. I accept cookies in Safari call my phone but not DuckDuckGo. These days I use DuckDuckGo for everything except for this site and one other that doesn’t like DuckDuckGo. My bookmark is search.php?search_id=newposts&sid=98d5f ... 75c5efb3a8

There's your problem. https://levergunscommunity.org is where it's at. I followed the link you posted and it goes to http:// - when the s is absent it's an insecure connection. By using the https:// prefix you are then able to log in using our secure site certificate and it SHOULD then remember you - as long as you use the https:// when coming to the forum.
