Yep, and you soon learned that they weren't dirt tracks for racing either. After the wife's laundry got muddy when hanging to dry, the neighbor's have a little talk about... well, neighborliness! :P

They're not? :?

Nice advice in the link too. I like living in a rural area and don't plan on changing that anytime soon.

BTW, 3rd pic down is totally awsome! I love big ol' fireplaces. :D

If You live waaaaaaaaay out in the country where there is little traffic dirt roads are o.k. but I live in a rural area and my road is a country bypass around town. :( .
I soon learned to despise the "Dukes of Hazard" mentality. they paved it eight years ago and there are no fond memories here. Jim.

I can remember it well. I grew up on a dirt road, no gravel just dirt. What a quite place back in the woods.

Very good - :D

I drive 15 ks from town on bitumen then another 11.5 on the dirt. It's got all the features: sections of slippery clay, loose gravel, sand patches and corrugations. Seldom see another vee-hickle

I still live on a dirt road. Washboard and all. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Don't get much "Dukes of Hazzard" action though.... it is a dead end road.
