RETIRED! DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS SUNDAY
Due to the Covid 19 stuff, we hadn't been going to church lately, as my wife and even myself are kind of in a higher risk category for potential complications, and we are pretty much trying to avoid large groups.
So! After spending 2 hrs on the computer early this morning, checking my stocks, and investments, and contemplating, putting in a few trades, I finally noticed that the stock and ETF prices were not changing any. I thought I had an internet issue, and then after a while, wondered if I needed to check the news to see if something had happened, and the market was halted or something. I finally just gave up, and decided to forget it for a while. And I even sorta planned to ride my Harley down to the local gunshop and visit for a little while.
Finally, my wife told me it was Sunday. I had thought it was Monday, for 3-4 hours.
I guess that's when it starts to sink in that I am actually retired, and can't even keep up with what day it is. I wonder if it finally time to throw away my wrist watch, too. I guess this is not all bad, really.

I quit wearing a watch many years ago.
In Africa a watch was pretty much useless.
I could always tell when Sunday came around 'cuz there would be people singing in the churches long before the meeting started. If they ever had special meetings during the week and I heard people singing it got me confused.

I'm with Steve. Trash day is the only one that needs remembering. And then my neighbors usually put the cans out the night before so I have a good reminder.
As to time, well I like watches. Real ones with dials not digital. Ever try to find direction using a digital watch, never going to work. But, an analog one gives you a pretty accurate north if you know how.

What day it is??!!?? After a couple of years you'll start forgetting the months.....it really has to be a week into the month before I know what it is......
"Time" was an invention by man, but if you want to put loot in your pocket, you need to know it.
I'm one of those who absolutely needs a watch for the time of day.....the price we pay for living in "civilization".

I have a couple of nice pocket watches which haven't been wound in over 2 years. I retired in 1999.

I always liked the line in Crocodile Dundee ... "When were you born?" "They told me it was in the Spring."

I do need to know what time it is on Sunday night, because I don't want to miss Yellowstone.

The trouble with retirement is you never get a day off.

Re: RETIRED! DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS SUNDAY
I have had a heck of a time remembering what day it is since retiring a decade ago. I'm always at least a day off, and it's sometimes a day early, or a day late. I don't wear a watch, and I occasionally check my cell phone to see what it says about time or date.

Re: RETIRED! DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS SUNDAY
When I first retired 1.5 years ago I decided every day felt like Saturday so I began calling Monday through Friday Saturday 1 through Saturday 5, Saturday was still Saturday, and I wasn't going to mess with Sunday. I'm home churched and reflect on my creator almost every day but make a special effort on his day.
That lasted about a month. It drove my still employed friends and relatives to distraction and my wife refused to participate. Oh well. I still like it better than working.
