What's the generally accepted size for posting pics on this forum? I'd like to share on this forum.

640 X 480 will do. So will 800 X 600. The smaller size works OK on older VGA machines, but most folks today have the capability of viewing the larger size. And some of us can view full size 3 megapixel images with no problem, but those are still in the minority. Anyway, the 800 X 600 is what I normally use for general internet sharing. It's a good mix of viewable size and small file size. Many folks are still on dialup, so the smaller sized image files load faster for them.

IMHO, every person who posts a photo wider than 800 pixels should be sentenced to one month of using a laptop on a dialup connection.

Junior,

I agree, I did not want to subject any of our dialed-up friend to long load times. BTW I enjoy your articles on 30-30 cast bullet loads. :D

Many forums have the size limit posted at about 600 or 650 maximum.
Resolution settings are also as important as size.

Tom - one of my favorite of your moving smiley's!

Say, does anyone know which picture you should use when using Photobucket? I think the ones I use may be too large, and I don't want Junior to come after me!!!

I like to size my pics with Irfanview to 640x480. They work fine like that. :D

Your photo above is 264K in size.

These are optimized for the web.
