First Covid19 .....................
First Covid19 addition . A late 50's or early 60's Mannlicher Schoenauer MC Carbine in 6.5x54 MS .
I'd wanted a 6.5x54 MS in this configuration rather than the Model 1903 Carbine I got back in December . So now I have 6 of the MC/MCA carbines . I don't see me getting anymore as I don't know of any other readily available chamberings in the carbine versions and to be honest this one and the 7x57 aren't that readily available .
Obviousely the guns not in my hands yet and these are Gunbroker pictures .

Looks very nice but where's the 8 bore?!

Re: First Covid19 .....................
Oughtta know one way or the other by the end of the month . There was a Parker GH 8 gauge on a 6 frame with 36” barrels sold on the Parker forum last week . I’d loved to have gotten that one but they were asking 12G’s even with a decent deduction I doubt if it was bought for less then 10G’s !

I need to scrape up a nice old Leupold Vari XII 2-7 and a double set trigger for my new 6.5x54 MS

The 8 gauge is off the table . It was a Parker 7 frame 36” top lever hammer gun that was made in 1888 . The guns at Morphys auction now but it goes under the gavel Tommorrow . But internet bidders are already at $6000 plus 20% buyers premium that is $7200 so far . That’s over my maximum .

Did however buy a Mannlicher Schoenauer MC Rifle in 30-06 today to rob the double trigger and a Leupold Bari XII 2-7 and Jaeger side mount . I’ll put the single trigger from the 6.5x54 MS in this gun and send it down the road . The mount can go in my goody box and the Leupold will go on top the 6.5x54 MS .

Well that's a shame you couldn't get that 8 bore!
Boy that rifle looks like it's in great condition!

A friend in New York State just got a really nice GH 8 gauge on a 6 frame with 36” barrels . He also just got a reworked MEC press to load for it . I think he’s about 12G’s deep in the gun and tools to load for it .

That’s a pretty slick looking rifle.
Re: First Covid19 .....................
I was at the range today for awhile took my new to me 6.5x54 MS as well as my almost identical 7x57 . The 7x57 is now ready to go . The 6.5 needs load work as I was shooting some of the stuff for my 1903 model 6.5x54 MS .
I found an older Redfield Traditional 3-9 I had stuffed in a scope box last night so I put it on the 6.5 this morning . I’ll most likely still put the Leupold 2-7 on it later but the Redfield covered the bases today .You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: First Covid19 .....................
Friday and today I loaded up 72 rounds of 6.5x54 MS to be shot in three shot groups . Two powders with two weights each for six different bullets all the bullets are 140 grainers . Now I’ll try and do the range Wednesday Thursday or Friday . It’s looking like during the regular gun season this rifle and my 7x57 just like it will step to the forefront . Also wanna get one with the 6mm-06 and one with my 6.5mm Sherman Short Magnum . I suppose when I get the six loads for the 6.5x54 worked out I’ll get one for the 6.5 SSM . As to shotguns this year the 28 Parker goes to the forefront followed by one of the Parker 16’s loaded with home cast slugs , then perhaps my Parker 20 with Brenneke slugs .

Re: First Covid19 .....................
Oh yeah the 6.5x54 has double set trigger now instead of the single trigger it came with . Might as the summer goes on work up a load for the MS rifle in 06 I took the double set out of and replaced with the single trigger . Not an 06 person as such but I sure floor boarded five deer last season with my Mannlicher Schoenauer MC carbine in 06 using a different handloaded bullet for each deer . By different I mean different load .
