Maybe it is. . . . Time to go POSTAL....!!!

Post by AJMD429 »

Anyone want to set up a "Postal Match", since we are all stuck at home now...?????

Maybe something to start would be five shots from your pistol-caliber levergun at 50 yards, standing...???

I'd love to, but
1: my range is closed
2: I'm under a stay inside order

:(

No public land open in Washington to shoot on but...I'd try to play. I got a new MVA tang sight on my 1873 Miroku and a reproduction Rocky Mountain front sight I have yet to sight in.

Same problem here. Stay at home orders from the state, and range is closed now also.

Way Cool!
Our gun club is usually quiet during weekday afternoons and that's when I'm supposed to be "working from home" but getting out to burn some powder is good for the soul.
I've been thinking my 1885 needs a workout! :D

For the coronavirus-jailbirds out there...maybe a fifteen-foot indoor shoot using just primers and wax bullets...?

Finally got to sight in my Win 86 with the Providence Tool sight. Had to get a.700” tall front sight.

I'll be ready soon. Last week I worked up an initial cast bullet plinking load with Unique for a 1914 Savage 1899H .303 Savage. Once I found my low power reading glasses, I could see the open sights. This was only at 25 yards, but the snow was still too deep in the back field to walk out farther from the bench without breaking through the crust and sinking to almost knee deep. It has been a bit warmer the past few days, so the snow pack should be down to less than boot height, so I plan to give it another try tomorrow at 50 yards and also set up the chrono.

Still working on that 86 Extra Light with the new Providence sight. Meant to take the box of 13 gr Unique loads. Oops. Took the 450 grain @ 1675 fps. Pelosi. I also had a few 330 Gould’s over 54 gr 3031 @~1800. That’s a bit zippy too in a 7# gun.
The 330s hit about a foot higher than the 450s. Interesting.
The 450s hit (I’m guessing) about 8” lower than the 330s over 13 gr Unique.
There’s a reason I quit shooting the 450s. I am a wuss. Only made it through about 30 rounds. The target pic is with what I thought was a tiny movement of the rear aperture windage. 🧐. That small bull at 100 is probably a bit too small for my eyes. Last five of the day. Really had to fight the flinch!
