I know some 'NRA Members' are dumb, but....???

Post by AJMD429 »

Supposedly "58% of NRA Members think citizens shouldn't be 'allowed*' to own 'assault rifles'...???"

Well....that's what this TownHall Article says Joe Biden claims.....

* and what's this "allowed" garbage.....???????????

...........the last I heard was that the U.S. government was unique in the world, in that it was created BY the citizens, and to serve at their pleasure, with enumerated, and limited 'rights' granted TO THE GOVERNMENT, BY THE CITIZENS - not the other way around. The citizens are the ones who "allow" the government to own certain firearms, using certain ammunition, under certain circumstances, and NOT the other way around.

Does anyone really believe what Joe Biden says?

More and more he sounds like an old man well into his dotage....

He does sound as if age related dementia has taken hold. Funny how President Trump is about the same age and sounds and acts much more vigorous and intelligent. I really do think President Trump can handle another 4 years. I don't think Quid Pro Joe could make it through 1.

Even the great Joe Foss once remarked in the 1960's "When this gun control business blows over the ILA will have all the money."
It takes some people a while to catch on. Some people never do.
The control fetishists will never stop. Guns are just the beginning.

So my question is how many NRA members here contributed to this BS survey that came up with the "58%" figure? I sure never got the call, and betting 95% of NRA Members didn't either. stuff like this is full of loopholes and mistakes. People doing these surveys can word things in such a way, and poll people in certain ways to get whatever results they want.
I put little faith in Joe Biden, and even less in surveys.

As marlinman said, it's all in what and how it is asked and who is asked. In other words, the issue really is: ”How to ask the questions to achieve your end goal.”

I lived in California 1967 – 2001 and I recall an article from I believe the Calif. Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) about an anti-firearms survey CRPA obtained. According to the survey, it showed an over whelming number of self-identified firearms owners supported mandated background checks and waiting periods.

The first question on the survey asked: “Are you in favor of background checks and waiting periods?” About 85% + of the firearms owners who responded said “no.”

At just about the end of the survey or it was last question asked, the survey asked “Would you be in favor of background checks and waiting periods if that was the only way you could buy/transfer a firearm?” About 65% of the firearms owners said “yes.” (bold added: RCN)

Guess which percentage they touted as firearms owners being in favor of and supporting background checks and waiting periods?...
