Tax the Trailbikers and Birdwatchers too...

Post by AJMD429 »

As this WaPo Story notes, Hunting is needed to support wildlife conservation, because the non-hunters keep resisting anything like the 11% tax hunters pay.

I agree,if you enjoy wildlife and the outdoors you should do something to ensure it survives for future generations, why should only hunters pick up the tab ?

Oh! The hikers and trail bikers take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but bodily waste. They shouldn't have to pay for that.

The hikers and environmentalists all claim to be the "good guys" who wear soft moccasins and leave no trace of their existence. They cry every time someone wants to put a fee on anything they do in the woods! They prefer the average people using the outdoors pay the way for them. They're above all that.

Just like people who drive electric cars. They want free charging stations at malls, banks, restaurants, the apartment buildings and homes were they reside because they are "saving" mother earth. Saw with the gasoline tax being replaced by miles driven per year -- can't do that as they are again saving mother earth from air pollution. It's a scam to convince their followers and others that the other guy should pay for it....

Where I live we pay a fee added to our yearly registration on our off road vehicles for using the trail systems (for upkeep of the trails) while the hikers, walkers and bicycle people pay nothing and want to ban off road vehicles from the trails.I bet they would change their mind quick if they had to pay the fee if the the off road vehicles were banned.Basically these people are nothing but freeloaders living off of some else's dime but demanding a say in how things are run

Up in Canada before You get a fishing or hunting license , You first have to buy an "outdoors" card. I think this would be a Great idea for all the hikers, bird watchers, dog walkers , mountain bike riders who use the outdoors.
