Great, now I'm off to read up on it. I'm throwing you under the bus with the wife on this.

Mine is fun, and it was really just an 'extra' barrel/spring along with a Rock Island Armory double-stack 9mm 1911 I got.

DO clean it; when mine gets dirty extraction can be iffy.

It is a great low-recoil, but loud-noise, way to introduce people to the 1911.

...and it WILL detonate Tannerite....

Sounds similar to the remington jet in a s&w model 53. I have this one. No recoil but deafening.

This one is indeed an oddity.....

https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_inf ... +8%2b1+fof

There are several variations of .22 TCMs available.....

There is the wide-body 17-shot 1911 that the good doctor mentions. Then there is a single-stack 10-shot 1911 that uses common .38 super magazines.....

Then there is the somewhat shorter overall length .22 TCM 9R that was designed to convert your glock 9mm.....https://www.ammosupplywarehouse.com/wes ... s_id=21866

In this shorter designation there is this..... https://www.gunsandammo.com/editorial/r ... m9r/356952 that armscor/RIA only seems to make one limited run of every late winter.....

And finally the "medium rocks" in the 8-shot officers model size like mine and in a commander size, both in the shorter .22 TCM 9R with common 9mm 1911 magazines with the aft spacer.

As the doctor mentions.....Loud !

Has anyone used it on Varmints of the 4 legged type yet? I am curious as to what it will do to a coyote. A friend has some land and the coyotes have denned up on his place a time or two. When out mowing with a brush hog, he has had a momma coyote run him away from a den more than once. He likes 1911 style pistols.

I think the only 'issue' would be whether or not you could HIT the coyote/varmint....

Ballistically, the thing is awesome - between a 22 Hornet/Bee, and a 223 Rem/NATO, and even factory loads are available with soft points and hollow points.

Accuracy-wise, all I know is I can hit the small Tannerite jars at 30 yards or so within 3 shots... 8) 8)

Usually on the 1911 'platform', it is the sights that are the limitation, but I know some folks get really nice sights, or even optics, on their 1911's. I would guess that the cartridge itself is VERY accurate, or certainly on-par with the 22 Hornet and 45 ACP...

Another 1911 to keep in mind is the one in 22 WMR...!!!!
