I think Ruger did something similar last year when it after RIA/Armscor.

Ruger better be careful, lest Colt sue them over their Blackhawk and Vaquero copies of the famous Single Action Army. And their 1911 models.
And Kel-Tec might sue them for their LCP copies of the P3AT.

I'm amazed that the patent hasn't expired on the 10/22.

I don't think it's the patent, or functional design, they are suing over. It's the trademark, which includes such things as the overall look of the gun. Pretty thin to me...

If this is over the Model 597 I see little if any similarity to Ruger's 10-22. Sounds like Remington has a product that people are buying and Ruger can't stand the competition.

Ruger is suing S&W which owns Thompson Center over their 10/22 clone (called TCR/22). TC advertises that the TCR/22 accepts 10/22 magazines and most 10/22 accessories

Wait a second...

Isn't this the same Ruger that blatantly COPIED the Kel-Tec P3AT when they released their LCP 380 ? ? ?

Oh I see, it's OK for them to do it.........................

Considering how many companies have built accessories designed specifically for, and advertised as fitting the 10-22, I'm surprised Ruger would sue anyone? And Volquartzen built a copy of the 10-22 long ago, and started a business out of making 10-22 accessories and advertising them.
Is Ruger that desperate for money that they need more from S&W? I would think they'd be flattered that S&W used a design that accepted Ruger accessories?
