New night vision questions?

Post by Nath »

So I got these night vision goggles off eBay but I have a question.
The seller said they are idiot proof but I can not work out where the cells go! Can you help?

Are any of you knowledgeable guys familiar with these things?

I thought the Spitfire pilots ate Bilberry jam on toast for their night vision. More usable vitamin A per bite than in Beto-carotene. Although I am not sure what he has to do with it.

British misnformation to hide how effective our Radar was at the beginning of WW 2, RAF aircrew ate carrots to see in the dark....,

The myth that carrots improve your eyesight may have its roots in a World War II propaganda campaign.

During the war, the British Royal Air Force developed a new type of radar technology that helped pilots shoot down German enemy planes at night, according to Smithsonian Magazine. But in order to keep the new technology a secret, the government said carrots were behind the pilots' success.

Advertisements during the war touted the benefits of carrots for nighttime vision, including one that read "Carrots keep you healthy and help you see in the blackout," Smithsonian Magazine says.

Strange coincidence, just after typing the above post, a TV program called " World War Wierd" that I was watching came up with this story, also claiming that Hitler fell for it and ordered Luftwaffe pilots to eat carrots, not sure if that is true but pretty funny if it is....
The RAF had a pilot by the name of Group Captain John "Cats Eyes" Cunningham who shot down a lot of German planes at night and that's when the story about carrots started.

Rabbits see in the dark pretty well. Owls see very well in the dark. Do Owls have RADAR?

By the way, is Bilberry jam even real? This time I am not being silly. I understand that mis-information is useful in war. Yes, proper nutrition does help your body to function well. We all do know that it is not possible to become superman just by eating right. If it were so, then Lance Armstrong would have kept his title.
