To my Fellow Shooters in the UK, wishing you the most memorable Guy Fawkes Day celebration! Eat well, drink, be merry, and light the bonfires and fireworks!

Thank you Ray.
Guy Fawkes Day, or as we used to call it, Bonfire Night, was a really great time when we were kids. No health and safety, no nanny state regulations, just build the biggest bonfire and collect as many fireworks as possible. We used to make a Guy with a few old clothes stuffed with paper etc and go around begging for " a penny for the guy".
No age limit on buying fireworks, so us kids used to compete on how many penny bangers we could get, in those predecimal days, 240 penny's in a pound so 240 penny bangers was are goal with as many threepenny cannons as we could get too. Those days have sadly gone but backyard fireworks displays are still common as are professional organized shows. I never gave much thought to poor old Guy Fawkes back then but years later I became the gamekeeper to Huddington Court, home of one of the main conspirators in the 1605 plot.

Such a waste of good powder!
As a kid I got hooked on black powder via dang fireworks!

A few years ago near where I worked a company burnt and blew up damp damaged fireworks in a field by the tonne! I cried for week
