Power off, check/reseat all external cable connections

Power on, are *any* of the indicator lights on? If no, major issues.

If on, any beeps/boops coming from computer? If so, you need to verify that it's not the monitor that's bad.

Also look for the hard drive indicator light to be blinking randomly, if so, that's good. If not, that's bad

If lights and monitor good, then pop cover, reseat anything that is re-seatable, especially the memory chips/strip, video card, anything else on the motherboard that's connected

You don't have to absolutely pull it out, just thumb or finger pressure to push - about as much as pulling a trigger.

Give it a try, pls advise.

Several options come to mind:

a) 410 grains at around 2,000 fps from any 45-70
...(there is a certain 'vintage' appeal rebelling against modern technology at play)

b) the old standby (for me at least) of a 240 grain JSP around 1,200 fps from a Super Blackhawk, Redhawk, or (for the ultimate satisfaction, a Model 29 S&W)

c) the old fashioned 12 gauge slug (or for show-offs a 10 gauge).

d) something in the 7mm Rem Mag class (7mm RUM or Weatherby for the rich folks).

e) (for me the ultimate, given my gun safe contents) a 375 Ruger, 300 grain solid around 2,700 fps.

or finally.....

e) Tannerite....!

Thanks, took all the screws out of the back but couldn't get the back off.
Took the hard drive out through the door
Too lights come on in the front but no blinking light
Just had a new hard drive put in less than a year ago
Worked fine when I shut it down last night

If the monitor is good, and you're not even getting the boot up splash screen...

I'm blaming the power supply, or the power supply connections.

Could it be low voltage causing the issue?

Had a similar problem on a laptop a while back. Got a new display on ebay for about $15, that fixed it.

The simple reason that there are so few viruses attacking Apple products is that there is no money in it. All financial institutions, Governmental Agencies, and major retailers use Windows. That makes Windows the target of almost all hackers. Apple can get viruses because it can be hacked. Since there is practically no reward from the time and risk, Apple is about as low risk for hacking and viruses as you can get and still be on the internet. The biggest risk with Apple is the constant stream of new versions coming out and the arm twisting to have you keep up with what is new. Since you are adult enough to know to avoid the trap of keeping up with the latest trends, an IPad would be a good idea for you. They have good cameras, and are easy to use for videos.

I pitched my tower type computer many years ago and got a laptop. Way more compact, more power, and cheaper too. They also seem to last much longer. They generally run $250-$300 for more computer than I ever need.

Lenn, you backup your data, before the computer crashed?.

I organise my laptop so its possible to do a backup copy.

Single files are placed on hotmail and gmail as attachments.

I have two usb external hdd's that I rotate for the "folder" copy.

The hdd's I keep in the gunsafe under lock and key.

When your computer crashes it leaves a cold cold feeling.

Best of luck, Mark

Hope you get it worked out for little cost, Lenn.
My last laptop died a couple years ago and that was it for me. All I use is my phone now.
I bet with a couple cedar posts, half a pound of roofing nails, a coat hanger and a 9 volt battery, you could build a computer that would last forever. :D

I don't back up anything personally. Every time a computer has died my computer guy has been able to take the hard drive out and download the hard drive info to the new one I purchased. I guess I've just been lucky the hard drive was OK when they failed, or at least OK enough to download the data I needed. He never charges for doing this when I buy a new computer from him.

Knock On Wood.
This I-Mac was spendy, but no problems for almost 8 years. I have to vaccum it out thru the air vents a couple times a year or it slows down due to heat buildup. I could do with some extra RAM, tho....
