Thanks Marvin, i`m just amazed how it turned out, ordered one of those link belts to put on the self propelled otherwise ya have to pull the motor and the linkage on top to put a belt on.
Put a new belt on the reel mower today too and it works perfect, heck i`m on a roll. :D

That Lauson has a nice purr. Bet it is grateful to have some honest work again!
Lenn, do you think the blades just need some sharpening to reduce clogging or is that just the nature of this particular beast?

It sounds good. Even with that grass clogging it up a little, it looked like it was working. No big box store push mower could cut that stuff.

Made three sections from flat steel plate and installed them and now working pretty good, theres a couple off those wear thingies that push down on the sections to keep them tight against the guards i`m going to build up with weld and grind flat.
When i get the belt on so the self drive works it should be complete.
Also a final video of the reel mower working perfect.

Thanks Bill, someone removed the three center sections and they sandwiched between the sickle bar and the part with the nuts on top which then bent the bar lifting most of the section off the guards.
That and the two end sections were loose so its no wonder it wouldn`t cut.
The new belt should be here soon for the drive then we`ll see how it goes.

Thanks fellers, i`m waiting on a belt for the Zipper and motors for the other two, i had a brand new Predator in the box and pulled it out of the box this morn and it`s locked up tight so now i have to go 100 miles and exchange it.
Got this Craftsman reel going just now, never figured it would ever run no spark and stuck everywhere.

Finished up the Zipper, put the new drive belt on it today so its self propelled.
Tried it in some heavy grass and it did alright but the old motor doesn`t have a lot of power.
The Cunningham is next or the Jari mower, waiting on engines.

It cracks me up, Pitchy. "It's all locked up, total loss" then a few posts later, "It'll run with gas put through the spark plug hole." then "Got the drive belt installed."

It's a pleasure to watch your persistence in getting these old machines up and running. Thanks for sharing them with us! :D

Thanks fellers, we just put new belts on it on both sides, it wasn`t working right before.
The left belt just runs the sickle and the right is the drive, the right belt was too short so it wouldn`t disengage proper.
Working good now. :)
