Old wooden box.

Post by Pitchy »

Norma brought home a old wood box from a garage sale, refinished it and made it into a ammo box for 44 Spl.

Nice. It looks kinda like the box my S&W 25-5 came in.

Nice, Lenn !

I love both repurposing various boxes to gun or knife use, and/or building them from scratch...……

These are some:

That old salt cod box reminds me of a house we renovated years ago. The house was not far from a quarry. Instead of 3/8" lathe for the plaster they used wooden dynamite boxes. I could only find 2 peices with the printing intact.

Great find Norma, great use Pitchy.
Pete great way to 'hide' guns around the house!

Everybody learned to do with what they had back then. My grandmother told me that my grandfather was a lather when they met. It was his job to put on the little wooden strips to the plaster could be put on them.

Pitchy, I really like what you did with that box. I like old wooden boxes with the nice dovetail joints. Problem is, around here a lot of other people like them too, which really drives the price up beyond what I can justify paying for one. nevertheless, I always keep my eyes open. I'll probably do the same when I find one.

Thanks Kirk, this box was really really ugly when it came home but cleaned up pretty good. :)
