Speaking Of Motorcycles.....

Post by Blaine »

Due to bad knees, and back I sold my last 1000lb touring bike about 10 years ago. Then I had a couple of smaller, lighter cruisers. Then I got rid of those and have not ridden in about 3-4 years.
I surely missed it, so saved some pennys and got this Trike. It's a stock pic off the 'net, but it's exactly like mine.
CanAm F3 LTD.
Cruise control, power steering. Lots of power and comfort.
I should have done this years ago.

That's good Blaine. How fast does it go? Does it have a trailer hitch? What engine does it have? What kind of mileage does it get? How would it be in Death Valley off the beaten down road?

You left out a few details.

Real glad you got a ride again.

Not sport-bike fast, but kick a Harley's butt fast. As near as I can tell, 0-60 is about 6 seconds.
Hitch is available.
3 Cyl, 115 hp
On the Eco Mode, I'm averaging about 39-40
Only about 4.5 inches of clearance.

Good choice! My friends father road that bike until he passed away at 90 years old. He had a Honda trike before the CanAm. But it wass the Can ams power steering that kept him riding. You don't think about it but the trike took to much arm strength to turn it around in parking lots. I know you have plenty of arm strength yet Blaine. Enjoy your new ride!

Actually, my shoulders suck, and a long day makes them ache...much less so than with this one. And, you're right....this is the perfect one for me....paddle up/down shifts, or it will downshift on it's own as you slow down. Reverse, too.

That small one is not the one anymore.....Didn't like it much for riding more than an hour or so.

I see quite a few of those Can-Am trikes around. Most of their riders are respectful of others. Lots of those on the Japanese racing bikes need a lesson in manners.

I just seen one or similar parked in town yesterday. Wife was driving and I had her do a 180 so I could get another look. This one looked like it was based on a Goldwing setup. I rode many years but both my wife and me are too big to be comfortable together. I am recovering from a new hip and ball surgery besides. I had thought I would die of old age on a Harley but things happen with age. The motorcycles and airplane were sold. I still am on a walker.

We see a lot of those on the Oregon Coast, both locals and tourists (even when it rains). I looked at a used one for sale, but at just 2 years old it was $$$$!

Thanks! Looks like a lot of fun to me... couple of pieces of pvc pipe and canvas overhead with insect proof side curtains and you can sleep wherever you park
