What a story! That is a true hero. He's lucky that one soldier came back to pick up communication wires. Otherwise he would have died there and none of this would have been known.

I couldn't read it. Swishing a ton post says I have run out of free stories. :?:

Piller, I get around the "you're out of free stories" this way:

1. I use several different browsers.
2. When I've read enough in one browser, I go to Google Chrome, delete my history,
and try a different browser. It seems to work most of the time. Jeff Bezos
can afford to let me read for free, now can't he?

The story is amazing, though. It's a very small club of people who have thrown themselves
on a live grenade, and lived to be 98 or so. And like most true heroes, he thought it was
just the thing to do at the time.

We need more people like him, especially in these times.
